After Hours Pediatrics Hunters

You do not have to wait with a sick little one at After Hours. The staff is very nice and caring. They keep your records unlike some other walk-in clinics and you don't have to redo them.

We had to bring our two year old in for stitches on his forehead. The wait was very short. The staff were kind and considerate. The atmosphere was pleasant and entertaining with the individualized tv in each little waiting area in the back. I am so grateful for the convenience and child friendly atmosphere when your child is feeling their worst compared to going to an e.r. environment. thanks so much!!

We took our daughter who had a fever and a horrible cough - there was little to no wait to "get in" but once we were behind the door they had us there for two and a half hours. Our daughter had a fever of a 102 for 2 days (3 now) and the doctor who did see us was so belittling and condescending - she made us feel like completely bad parents and also bagged on our pediatrician at home (who has two best selling books on child care!!!) and told us that the advice he gave us was just wrong (um, hello, who is the one with the practice and is published, who is the one working in an urgent care?) My daughter has gotten WORSE and I called back and we got in a screaming match over the phone. I have dealt with hundreds of doctors in my life with my own and my childrens care and this is THE WORST doctor I have ever seen. She is probably sentenced to working this kind of place because she cannot generate a loyal following. She is HORRIBLE and I would caution you about her pathetic ability to communicate in an effective or supporting manner if you are seriously considering this place.

Every parent has a child wake up at night screaming in pain or vomitting, or has a child break their arm after the pediatrician's office has closed. You no longer have to suffer miserable waits at the ER, you can go to After Hours Pediatrics! AHP can do almost everything an ER can do for non-life threatening situations and can transfer your child to the hospital if necessary. They can xray and set broken bones and they can run blood tests on sick kids, all with a short wait as compared to your typical ER. The only con is the cost. If you have insurance your appointment will qualify for the specialist co-pay, if you don't have insurance a simple visit starts at $85 with no self-pay discount (we've done both!) Still, I believe the high cost is worth the time you don't waste waiting in an ER, exposing your children to more illness and pain! When time counts, go to AHP!

PROS: Short wait, many services
CONS: high cost, needs to be open earlier on weekends and later at night!
