The Big Tomato is the only place in miami where you can get a pan pizza done right. Not only do they use healthy and fresh products, they don't skimp on the toppings either. Aside from that, they also have the freshest salads and soups in the yummiest bread bowls, and the BEST whole wheat crust in town, light, fluffy, filling, and healthy... You can't beat it. Do yourself a favor and stop by the Big Tomato, you'll never go back to that "Other" pizza again!
Pros: Fresh, Healthy, Affordable!
The Orginal Big Tomato is like coming home. The staff is freindly and very helpful. They always joke with me that I always order the Vegi roller. Well ,I sure do crave it so much that I drive from Key Biscayne to get it. That's no joke. I'm anticapting going to go get one tomorrow, I sometimes even plan my trips into town arround the Big Tomato. They are the best.!
The Big Tomato earns big points from my family. The crust is the best I have EVER had and the toppings are a unique blend of fresh, flavorful combinations. The salads are served in homemade bread bowls and are satisfying without being overfilling. I love that no matter when we go we always receive the same great quality and quantiy....unfortunately I live out of town but my mouth starts watering as soon as my plane lands.
Pros: Great quality of healthy food at a great price.
Cons: I live out of town
This was my first time at Big Tomato and it DEFINITELY won't be my last. The crust is so thick yet so very light and delicious. The fresh ingredients are key to the best gourmet pizza around!!
Pros: Right on US-1 in Pinecrest, near The Falls.
Cons: Limited parking. Get take-out, very limited seating. No atmosphere.
I have been in the food business for over 20yrs and my favorite food is PIZZA. I will travel a reasonable distance to get great pizza and Big tomato is definitely worth the drive. I can't figure out why people continue to eat the chain pizzerias, except that they have been brainwashed. If you truly love pizza, I recommend The Big Tomato.
Pros: Value
Cons: none
I was visiting Miami on a budget during the month of June, and I quickly learned that you get what you pay for in this city. There is, however, one surprise restaurant where you get way MORE than you pay for... and it's the Original Big Tomato! This pizza joint is tucked away in a small shopping center in Kendall, just a few minutes south of Dadeland Mall on US-1. I placed a takeout order for the 'Margherita' pie and it was delicious. The owners are very friendly and you can't beat the prices for the kind of ingredients they use (i.e. fresh dough, unprocessed cheeses and meats, no preservatives, etc.) - and their pizzas are so good because they are made-to-order. Shame on you if you buy your pizza from one of the chain stores! Give the Original Big Tomato a try!
Pros: No frills, great pizza
Cons: None
My husband and I consider ourselves pizza connoisseurs. Friday nights are typically ?pizza night? at our house, and the only place that we order from is Big Tomato. Their pizza is hands-down, the best we?ve ever had. It?s always a treat biting into a Big Tomato pizza. All of their ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality. One feels less guilty when eating a Big Tomato pizza because you know that it?s got nutritional value. The Big Tomato Sauce is seasoned perfectly and tastes delicious; the crust is fluffy, chewy, and scrumptious. They?re not at all skimpy with the toppings and the mozzarella cheese they use is yum. Put all those components together and add a staff that is eager to please, and you?ve got the number 1 pizza joint in our book. If you haven?t tried Big Tomato yet, you?re missing out on spectacular pizza. Their salads and wraps are real tasty too. We love inviting friends over and treating them to a delectable meal from Big Tomato. Everyone likes to be at our house on Friday nights.
Pros: High quality ingredients, plentiful toppings, delicious sauce and crust
Cons: None
I had the pleasure of experiencing The Big Tomato piazza a couple years ago while visiting Miami. So while planning my Super Bowl Menu, I decided to go to the EXTREME. Since it was alittle far to go for CARRY-OUT, I am in Maryland. I decided to have 4 Pizzas shipped. My friends are psyched to try them and I have no doubt they will be GREAT!!!
Pros: They ship PROMPTLY
Cons: Too far away from my home
everything is delicious--- sinful spinach pizza is to die for and all the salads are fresh and good.
Pros: great food
Cons: no atmosphere
A gourmet pizza that will make your mouth water.
Salads are wonderful as well.
All breads/doe is made fresh everyday, with very fresh ingredients.
This a pizza that your must try, otherwise, words alone cannot describe the experience.
Pros: Geat fresh food made daily.
Cons: There is not enough seating area.
This family-owned business focuses on healthy foods, with great quality and amazing variety. They feauture soups, wraps, salads and unique tomato pies, all made fresh to order. The original crust is amazing (the whole wheat a bit heavy), and the bread used for the salads is too tasty to waste -- ask for it on the side. Limited seating for quick dining, or a great way to have a truly scrumptious, healthy meal at home. Don't miss the IBC rootbeer in diet and regular!
