We are all great fans of Hemingway's literature. So it is a true delight to explore one of his homesteads. The folklore surrounding it is as quaint as the homestead. A must visit for any and all Key West vacationers. Take note of the amazing cat statue adorning the high board dresser in Ernest's bedroom. A master piece. Relish in the history of his felines! Just adorable!!

This is a must see stop when in Key West. Even if you are going there just to party, stop during the day. What an historical building. All the cats have six toes. Its a really cool place to visit.

If you like history you will like Hemingway house. if your allergic to cats then I wouldn't recommend it because there are a lot. Hemingway loved cats and all of the ones on the property are special and well taken care of. It bring you back to the fishing times when the island was not so big. It has an old world charm and beautiful antiques. If would definitely suggest stopping if you in the keys.

If you are in Key West, then I suggest a visit to the Ernest Hemingway museum. Located on the highest point in key west , the museum offers a trip back to a more simple time to when key west was a simple fishing village. You get a great feel for life back in the 30's and understand the influences Hemingway saw and felt as he was writing some of his best known novels. Be advised in the summer that it can get very hot with no AC. Make sure to bring plenty of water.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum last summer and thoroughly enjoyed it. The 6 toed cats are amazing. The tour guides so many interesting stories and the home itself is beautiful. It is definitely a trip and experience I will never forget.

If you love cats - this is the place for you! We visited this wonderful attraction in June 2001. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour, the wild Hemingway stories, the unusual decor and lovely furnishings. The cats were the best part though. At the time we visited, there were only 61 cats on the premises and many of them had 6 toes. They were beautiful and we are anxious to go back just to see them! This is a MUST SEE.
