Please, please, please go any where else but this place. All the horrible reviews are accurate. If you want to be lied to, manipulated, and scammed, then, by all means, make an appointment. Long story short: I took my 7-year-old son here

My children go to the Brandon office( have for past 2 years) and no problem until they changed dentist now for both my children I am having billing issues. They told me the analgesic is not a covered cost for my daughter to use for her filling and its $99. I paid it. Noticed on my dental EOB they didn't even submit the claim to my dental insurance for it to be denied, after calling my insurance, turns out it is covered cost, in fact at 100%. Still waiting on my refund (3 months). So the next month my son has his check up and amazing he needs 2 fillings and I had to prove to them my kids insurance would pay for the gas so I wouldn't have to pre-pay. They let it slide but am still getting bills for this visit, even though my son's insurance paid again at 100%. So not sure what I was thinking I scheduled a new pt exam/cleaning for myself (I do not have insurance)..What a scam. I am 29 and have routine cleanings and no previous mouth/gum/teeth problems. So now I need 3 fillings and 4 crowns. Also said I "might" need route canal but would have to schedule appt with endo to find out and pay another fee to come back for my cleaning. So for $84 all i got was xrays... no one touched my teeth. So after reviewing my xrays they came up with my treatment plan as above and grand total: $7,700. Come on. I went to great teeth to this. Do i have the word Sucker written on my forhead??? Now I question if my kids really had cavities in the first place. The next day i called to schedule with private practice and the price soooo much better, but when I called Dental Group to ask for my xrays I paid $84 to have done .. guess what.. its a $25 charge to pick them up. Anything to get your money.

Went to their Riverview office for filling, my lip was severed in the process and no one provided a reasonable explanation of what happened. I still can't use the side of my mouth where the filling procedure was done because I am experiencing pain. This visit was a total waste of money, and my dental problems have beed exacerbated. I would never go back to this place. i am sooo sorry that I ignored the previous reviews, I was just hoping that my experience would be more pleasant, turned out to be my worst dental nightmare.

I had visited this location back in October 2009 and I never realized that dental offices could be this bad. First of all, the Brandon office is filthy. When I sat down the dentist chair, the dentist felt the need to scold the nurse about lunch breaks right behind me where I could listen, not very professional. He then spent maybe two minutes looking at my teeth, mumbled something about brushing then vanished off to lunch.

Another nurse, after analyzing my insurance, approached me and mentioned I needed gum surgery that was going to cost over a thousand dollars. Luckily I got a 2nd opinion from a private practice dentist who said I didn't need gum surgery. I get the feeling they are trying to milk your insurance for as much as possible.

Back in January, Dental Health Group made the national news. At another office in Tampa, Great Expressions / Dental Health Group left an inch long piece of steel in a ladies head during surgery for over a year.

So that's why Dental Health Group is now know as Great Expressions.

Went there for over two years. This place is a meat market - never expect to see the same person twice. Went there for a cleaning and had no cavities - go six months later and magically have 8 cavities!?

Dentist that found the magic cavities tries to find a reason why....do you eat a lot of sweets? Um, no, I'm not 12 anymore

Do you suck a lot of citrus fruit? Yes, I make it a practice to suck a lemon dry every day. ..puleez!

Seriously, this place is very questionable.

One dentist there recommended ACT as a mouthwash for fluoride treatment. Then the ever knowledgable dental assistant (who had straggly hair and horrid breath) told me that it's just for kids.

Next time you go and are sitting in the examination room - take a look around. This place is unclean - dirt on the floor - you just don't get a comfortable feeling. This office should mainly be used if you're a transient who doesn't have dental insurance or if you just don't care.

Re: Brandon Florida Office of Dental Health Group
The business office at this location either does not understand dental insurance or, more likely, this is an extremely UNETHICAL dental practice. It appears that they attempt to get as much cash from the patient as possible by performing excessive x-rays while claiming that your insurance will cover them. This simply is not the case as most insurance companies will only cover bitewing x-rays. Again, I would prefer to assume that they are merely ignorant regarding insurance issues, but I'm inclined to believe that it is a profit-driven approach that borders on fraudulence.

Strongly caution against using this dental provider.

No kidding, my kids, all 5, like to go to the dentist. She's taken care of them for 10 years, starting as toddlers, no fear of the dentist and they love her. And they've all had fillings, and caps, and a lot of stuff that should make them hate dentists. I don't know what,or how, she does it, but she's awesome. Now, they've also been my wife and I dental provider for 10 years. They do a good job, it's very impersonal and very factory like. They're very unforgiving if you're late. They don't take you and you get charged, thas pisses me off. I don't think I've consistenly seen any one dentist there myself. Of course, I've never had any dental work.

I was charged $80.00 for a second opinion on a root canal. The went for a 3rd opinion and was not charged at all. I decided not to go back and had a credit on my account. I requested the refund in December (4 mos. ago) and still have not seen my refund.

I went to a dental health group and they told me that I need to have all seven of my previous cavities drilled and refilled. I could understand 1 or 2, but they told me all seven. Checking on-line, I learned that the fillings may need to be replaced, but it may take 15 years for that to happen, and the oldest filling I have is under 7 years. Never hearing this ?all cavities need to be redone? I went to another dentist, and they told me that I don?t even have 7 cavities to begin with and that only 2 needed some work. Dental Health Group wanted $1350 but another dentist only wanted $260. On top of it all, Dental Health Group attempted to convince me that I needed to buy a $115 toothbrush, but of course it was on sale. I wouldn?t recommend Dental Health Group to an enemy. And the $1350, was after insurance.

I just had my wisdom teeth pulled and was given an emergency contact number in case of infection. Well wouldn't you know it, I got one and called the number no pick up no returned call this was three days ago. Another thing their bathroom was not in operation on my second appointment ever there and it smelled like a sewage spill I had to go the Albertson's next door. I waited 55 minutes in the waiting room after being patient enough I got up and asked if they skipped my name for Jennifer the receptionist to tell me the doctor was running a little late today you think they would prep you with that info just for quality customer service and respect for the business and my day? One last thing the day of my surgery the doctor(Moffitt) said three words to me before the anestia kicked in"let's do this" and I never saw him again, now I don't know about everyone else but this made me uncomfortable and I thought wow and weird! I will be changing dentist:) Dr. Steen in New Tampa was one of the best I have ever experienced this office is run down and a joke of a practice!

Worst customer service ever. Phone was constantly busy on a business day, making it impossible for someone with a dental emergency to get through. Took the staff 20 MINUTES to make an appointment when I finally got through on the phone. Receptionist was extremely rude.

I cannot believe this place is still in business with the way they operate. I just recently canceled all of my appointments and am looking for a new dentist. I've had 4 problems with them and they are:

1 - Appointment canceled the day of the appointment, I was getting ready at 7:45am and received a phone call that I would not be seen that day and would have to reschedule. One day out of work wasted.

2 - I needed a lot of work on my teeth, to the tune of $2500 not counting 2 root canals. My bill was off severly, which I had to correct and show them that my insurance (pre-paid denti care) showed different amounts. They then re-corrected my bills.

3 - My 1st root canal was scheduled for a consultation w/ an in-house surgeon. I had recently moved and was now almost an hour drive away, but I NEEDED my teeth fixed. I arrive and wait 15 minutes in the exam chair for them to inform me that they don't have the referral or my x-rays. THIS IS IN-HOUSE REFERRAL! And my dentist was on vacation, so they couldn't do anything that day, wasted a drive there and a day off work!

4 - I canceled all appointments and asked for my dental records and x-rays. They confirmed this on the phone and told me to pickup my documents anytime. I later received more phone calls and a letter advising me I missed an appointment (which I had previously canceled). And my documents weren't ready for pickup, I had to order them and come back 4 days later.

If those 4 things don't deter you from using this dental office, I don't know what will. I learned the hard way and hopefully you won't have any of that happen to you.

Canceled one appointment with 1 hours notice, that's insane. They require 24 hours notice for YOU to cancel or you pay $25! They overcharged me more than my prepaid insurance, had to have that corrected. They had me drive 35 miles (each way) to an appointment then wouldn't do anything because they couldn't find my xrays or referral (it's inhouse!). Then to top it off I cancel all my appointments and find a new office and they didn't cancel them at all and sent me a letter about my missed appointment! I wouldn't recommend them to anyone!
