Loved the food. My first experience was with a Groupon. I was not expecting the food to be as delicious but it was! We ordered about 5 different tapas. Every single one of them was amazing. What i did not love so much was towards the back

I love Vizcaya. Felix is awesome. His Sole is tremendous. My favorites are his fresh seafood specials and the Spanish Tortilla. You should also try his croquetas de jamon and ajillo shrimp.
Great food and atmosphere.

I went to Vizcaya for dinner last nigth ! what a cute little restaurant ! its like being in Europe!! The menu its so extensive and trully authentic! We had a deal for 70 dollars with a bottle of Spanish Garnacha wine! One the best meals in the past months maybe years for 70 bucks.! profesinal waiters helpep us top create our tasting $70 . w e had Salmon ceviche for app, then Wild mushroom and truffle soup, a very nice Filet mignon with this incredible sauce and my huisband had a Filet of Sole with crab meat, and they also gave us a crema catalana for dessert, its like a cremebrulle but silkier. But the price its not the only amaizing thing to this joint , this food its just unbelivable !! Im so happy I found this place !!!

I've been to Vizcaya various times for lunch and dinner and have always greatly enjoyed the experience. The dishes are very tasty and creative. Felix Piedra, the chef, is one of the best chefs in Tampa. Vizcaya has a repertoire of very sophisticated as well as classic spanish/mediterranean dishes.

I've also worked with Felix and Vizcaya on catering events for my business. Needless to say, my guests loved the food and found it very tasty and unique.

We have a Spanish cuisine gem here in Tampa. Don't miss it.

I have to say I didn't even know about this restaurant. It 's on a quiet little corner on Dale Mabry in old Carrollwood. I was taken there on a first date not too long ago and was so impressed with this place I've been numerous times since. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the food and were very accomodating. The tapas we ordered were amazing and the wine that the waiter reccomended was a great value. It's really fun to order a variety of tapas to share and gives you plenty to talk about on a first date or second or third. On subsequent visits, i've had the sangria--wow is that awesome. Lunch is also a great value!

This is my absolute favorite restaurant. My husband and I do not live in the area anymore, but when we did, we ate at Vizcaya all of the time. Now we go any chance we get when we are in town. The food is always amazing and I always leave there stuffed because I want to try everything. There is something for everyone there and the large selection of tapas gives you a chance to try different things. You must try Vizcaya and I promise you will be hooked!

I have visited the Vizcaya Restaurante & Tapas Bar on several occasions. Each visit I experienced the same courteous service and quality cuisine. I have met the owner and chef, Felix Piedra, and respect his passion for cooking and his rapport with the patrons. I do not make recommendations unless the product or service exceeds my expectations. I recommend the Vizcaya Restaurante & Tapas Bar to all my friends and family.

I really enjoyed my experience there for lunch today. The server was very kind and gracious to me, especially since I got stood up by my date. He offered me a complimentary drink which was very kind of him. I had the special - veal with mushrooms in a delicious sauce with a side of asparagus and spanish rice. It came with a delicious white bean type soup. The food and service was wonderful - definitely worth the drive (even though I was stood up!)

Thanks so much, Joseph (my server)!

I am in love with this restaurant! I've been going there ever since it opened. It is so refreshing to have a non-chain restaurant in the Carrollwood area. The expansive menu is filled with the most interesting tapas and entrees. I love the scallops, the seafood salad, the grouper, the sweetbreads and I could go on and on and on.
Its definitely worth driving to Carrollwood if you want great quality ingredients made in creative and interesting ways!

The environment is quite nice. I was with a group of 10 friends. The waiter took our drink orders and told us he does not do separate checks. Then he ordered our food. We wanted apps and main courses. He told us it would come out of the kitchen as it was cooked. I got my main course before my app!! I wish I would have known that I was going to have to hunt down the waiter for a drink refill so I could have rationed it out!!! When the check came, 10 people had to figure out how much oney they owed and we paid various forms of payment. The waiter returned with our credit card slips and proceeded to tell us that tip wasn't included and we hadn't tipped him!!! The truth was he charged one of my friends $2.30 instead of $23.00 and the tips from the credit cards hadn't been added yet either. He never thanked us for not screwing him out of the $18. Very arrogant!! The food was delicious, service was terrible and I will never go back again.

Update: The owner of Vizcaya contacted a member from our group and apologized. The terrible waiter is no longer working there for obvious reasons. Knowing this, I would return and try again because the food was yummy!!!

The sangria was very good. We were there on a Thurs night and I would like to have seen more people to up the amp of the atmospohere a bit - but I don't know what its like on a Friday or Sat.

This was our first visit to the Vizcaya. The salad, tapas, and Sangria were wonderful; however, the entree (Chilean Sea Bass) was served lukewarm and bordering on under cooked. I asked to have it warmed and it came back just slightly warmer (I felt a little more comfortable that it might have been thoroughly cooked).
The salad although good, was served on a black (contemporary) plate that reflected fingerprints all around the edges in the dim lighting...how romantic. (?)
I eat Chilean Sea Bass rarely (once a year tops) and am always so thrilled with this fish...Not this time!! There was nothing special about how this fish was dressed (consider a crusting,,,macademian/almonds??). The room temperature Sea Bass was a big white blob on my big white plate,,not appetizing.
My overall impression was that the Vizcaya typically does very nice Tapas and Sangria but lacks experience in the \"entree\" side of the menu. If that is true, perhaps that is what you should limit the Valentine Menu to.

We arranged with the Owner Felix to have a baby shower at this quaint local restaurant.

We had over 30 Guest (couples) and everyone had a wonderful time. The meal was
a success with all of our guest. The menu started with an assortment of appetizers that were all delicious.
Our guest ordered a variety of entree?s. They chose from Fish, Chicken and Paella. Everyone was quite pleased with there choices. The entree?s were presented well and the taste was exceptional?

We then moved on to desserts ? One of our family favorites ? Flan ? It brought back memories?.
Just like abuela?s.

Felix was very gracious and helpful... his staff greeted us at the door and worked very hard
to make this a very memorable experience.

The group would like to give kudos to the Chef and Staff ? Don?t miss the sangria ? it is the Best in Tampa?.

We went on a Friday night. Got there around 6:30 and the place started getting busy after we got our drinks. I have never had a better octopus dish anywhere! It tasted like lobster. We will be going back to try more of the menu.

This restaurant takes Spanish food to a higher level than the typical Tampa "Spanish" cuisine. I eat here very often and the seafood is ALWAYS great. In fact, it is probably the best I've had here. The tapas are also delicious and creative. It can be a great place 4 a romantic date as well as night out with friends. The service staff and the chef has always been friendly and has gone out of their way to make us happy.

DO NOT GO to this restuarant. The Owner is a complete A-HOLE and the food was not good.
-------------
My friends went for dinner and ordered lobster and mussells and scallops, and red snapper. The mussells & scallops came and were good, but the lobster came and it was overdone and chewy (a $26 dish). My friend complained to the Server, and after a short while the server came back and said the per the Owner/Chef "You can have another Lobster Tail, but you will have to pay for it." WOW. Rather than cause a fuss, he decided to share his girlfriend's meal of red snapper, which as they were eating it, was found to contain bones. The server tried to make up for this with a free dessert.

Needless to say they were not pleased with the meal, but of course, this can happen anywhere. So here is the kicker. They got the bill and paid for the meal with a $100 bill, and my friend had written on the receipt that the Lobster was terrible and chewy and that the fish had had bones in it and they weren't pleased.

The server had gone to get change for the $100, and must have shown the note to the Owner/Chef. So the Chef came out to my buddy and got in his face and said 'You don't like my food....get the F--K out of my restaurant." The Chef grabbed the Free Dessert that had been offered and glared at my friend. My buddy was SO shocked, that he just looked at the guy dumbfounded and said "What did you say?" The Chef repeated it: "Get the F--K out of my restaurant."

My buddy was so angry, he took his water glass and tossed the contents (not the glass) at the Chef and stormed out.

Obviously this a-hole was not too proud to take my friends money, but certainly could not handle constructive critism about his cooking or his restaurant.

And to add insult to injury.....my buddy wound up with food poisioning that night and was attached to his toilet until about 3:30am.

NEEDLESS to say....I would NOT recommend that ANYONE go to this place. AVOID!!!
