Bought a pool from Sun fiberglass pools and within a few months it had blisters in the gel coat. They sent their guy out a few times to fix it but the blisters always came back.Never mind the fact their guy drained the pool and left the timer on. I heard the pump kick on and if we weren't home the pump and motor would of burned up. They sent an outside fiberglass pool repair man over. He drained the pool and did his repair and then gel coated the area and the blisters still came back. They sent another guy out who is supposed to be the best fiberglass guy out there. He was the only one that could tell me why it was happening. In the factory if they have imperfections they will use marine bondo on the pool. He explained that the fiberglass pool guys thought it was the greatest thing since sliced white bread when it came out in the 80's. Well the problem is it was made for boats, most boats are in the water 6-8 hours at a time, not 24/7. So, the gel coat lets water in and then the water gets trapped in the marine bondo. The water then comes out in blisters in the gel coat. I let Sun Fiberglass know why it was happening after the blisters reappeared, again. They told me they were not going to do anything about it anymore unless the pool has a crack in the shell. Basically to bad, sorry about your luck. We also had a problem when they installed the ladder. On the top step the left side was out of the water but the right side was under water. I let them know and their guy cut a piece of pvc and dropped it in the hole to shim it up and level it out. Looked good but the ladder broke from not being in the hole all the way. It was a good effort but what got me is when they went to replace the broke ladder the guy assembled the new one on the pool deck. It was all scratched to hell and I refused it. I then asked the guy why he didn't assemble it on the box it came from instead of the concrete pool deck. I called the office up and asked the manager if they spent $28,000 on a new car would they accept a scratched or damaged side mirror? They replaced it with a metal ladder which is probably why I keep getting staining in the pool which gives the entire pool walls a tan color. Oh except where they unsuccessfully tried to get rid of the blisters. That is a much barker color that stands out like a sore thumb. If I could turn back time I would go with another company.

We were considering adding a spa in our screened in enclosure. we called sun spa because we had heard good things. When we called we were given an appointment fo an estimate. we were suprised at how much higher they were thatn the others we had priced. I have heard it is quality although we felt the price was too high compared to other estimates we had received.
