We enjoyed the Key West aquarium. It is true that it is smaller and more simple than the Miami Seaquarium or other more modern aquariums, but that id its charm. We loved the petting tanks. (Have you ever held a sea cucumber??) We will go again every Key West trip. The kids enjoyed it, too!

While small and sorta hard to find, we found the aquarium to be a nice place to slow down a bit while still being entertained. We got to the aquarium right before one of the cruise ships were scheduled to disembark so there was TONS of people waiting for trolleys to take them to the pier. Made it a little stressful to find it and get in but once inside it was dark, and cooler. Starts off with a touch and learn center which my son enjoyed. Also had a huge area in the rear to feed sharks, and turtles, not to mention the wild fish who could swim into the holding tanks.

Pros: wasnt as crowded as some places can be in key west

Cons: small

Key West Aquarium is probably smaller and not as fancy as what most people want when the go to see the underworld animals.

My girlfriend and I went here during our vacation. We walked by the building and thought, why not check it out.

I think it's probably a good place to bring the kids for some family time. There are some touch tanks where they can feel some of the conch, fish, turtles and other living things. I know they give tours as well that are geared to the little kids.

Look for coupons at your hotel or brochures in the entrance way of the restaurants or shops.
