Islamorada Fish Co

I have eaten at the Islamorado Fish Company a number of times with inconsistent results. The first time we ate there we had wonderful Grouper sandwiches that were fresh, perfectly prepared and the service great. The next time I tried to eat in the bar area during happy hour. I waited for 15 minutes for a waiter to help me (even though they were not busy). When he showed up he said I could not get happy hour prices because it was 1 minute past happy hour. I got up and went into the restaurant area where I ordered a Grouper sandwich which was very dried out. The last time I was able to eat in the bar during happy hour. Service was slow primarily because the waitresses were standing around talking. We ordered a sushi appetizer that was great - freshly prepared at the sushi bar. The iguanas that are on the grounds as well as the fish aquariums make this an interesting restaurant that sometimes has good food and service.

This restauarant adjoins Bass Outdoor World and is across from the IGFA Fish Museum. The best thing about it is the absolutely incredible fish tanks distributed through out. They are HUGE and filled with fish and coral. Service is pretty good, but too bad the food is only so-so - a bit boring, nothing out of the ordinary.
