My family and I stayed at the Shades of Green for our recent Disney trip. If you meet the military qualifications to stay here, then you definately should! The rooms are very nice. They are clean, nicely decorated and larger than standard hotel rooms. The hotel used to be owned by Disney so it has a Mickey Mouse shaped pool which is fun for the kids. It was considered one of Disney's deluxe hotels at the time so that gives you an idea of the quality. The restaurants are very good too. The best part though is the price. Since you get a military discount at the Shades of Green, you pay the same amount as you would at the average Disney hotels which aren't near as nice.

Shades of Green offers a hotel to military and their families only. It is a beautiful hotel on beautiful grounds. When we went, we stayed on the resort for $45 a night. The rooms are a good size and very clean and you can walk across the street to the Polynesian and catch the monorail to the Magic Kingdom and be there in five minutes. You can also buy discounted tickets through them to the parks. They have a restaraunt and snack bar that are reasonably priced. Make sure to make reservations six months in advance.

This resort is located near the Magic Kingdom. We've stayed here twice in the past year and a half. The rooms are oversized compared to Disney property resorts and cost a lot less. (No mickey soap though). The restuarants offer gourmet quality food at very reasonable prices. Last time we were there, there was a sketch artist in the lobby and we had him sketch our daughter. His work was amazing. Transportation from here is decent but we walked to the Polynesian Resort and got on the monorail - SHH, that's our little secret.

Shades of Green is a Military resort located on Disney property. It is a wonderful hotel with everything you look for in a disney property. Great restaurants, even an AAFES store inside the hotel. They also have two pools, one shaped like Mickey's head.
Because of it's location you can take busses or trams to all of the Disney resorts and can avoid traffic and parking problems.
