We have been here several times: good food and good service each time. Their shrimp artichoke soup is the best. I hope they are open again this fall (I was down there in July and they were closed>>>>>we were told they are catering for BP) We will be sure to be there again

We went in to Cocodries for their weekend brunch. We are originally from Las Vegas, so we know a little bit about buffet style brunches. We walked in and hardly anyone was there, so we figured we were pretty early for their brunch. That wasn't the case. The buffet brunch was horrible. Bacon in a vat of grease, pancakes that were obviously frozen previously and not made fresh, powdered eggs (I know powdered eggs after being deployed to OEF and eating them for months!), and ketchup in packets!! Yes, ketchup in packets and not in bottles!! I thought we mistakenly went to Burger King across the way. Biscuits were hard as rocks. We are not complainers, but I expected waaaay more from Cocodries than highly priced buffet brunch. The servers barely paid attention to us and were more worried about not showing their faces than helping the people that were actually there. Save your money and go somewhere else - ANYWHERE else! Probably get better food at an Army chow hall!

Pros: On the beautiful Navarre Beach

Cons: Overpriced food, not worth the money

Dinner on 8/29/09. I had the seafood platter and my wife had the pork chops. The seafood platter had a large filet of catfish that was nicely seasoned, fried golden brown and was moist and delicious. There were also fried oysters, battered shrimp, a dish of shrimp etoffee over rice, and very skinny french fries. All of the food on my platter was delicious and it was a large serving. The pork chop plate had two french cut chops at least an inch thick. The chops were marinated and grilled with what appeared to be a citrus topping on the outside. The chops were lightly done and so juicy, served over a generous portion of smashed potatoes with cheese and chives. Again, a large portion and we took the leftover for a picnic lunch the next day! For dessert we had the key lime pie and were very pleased, especially with the crust which appeared to contain toasted and candied pecans. Good! Two iced teas, two entree's ($21 and $16), plus pie ($5) with tax came to $56. I tipped them well because I thought the service was quiet good. The restaurant is located maybe 100 yards from the actual beach, and is behind an artificial dune, but the view from the deck and the dining room was nice. After dinner, we walked over the dune and strolled up and down the beach gathering shells and enjoying the beach. We enjoyed it and plan to come back for a wedding rehearsal dinner in March!!

We were served raw amber jack!!! The server was nice and spoke to the manager and he would not even come to our table. No excuse for raw meat. This is the fault of the cook. Don't go to this place. The location is the only thing that keeps it in business. One time visitors is their bread and butter.

I spoke with my mother and was appalled at the experience she had at this restaurant. My mother has just been diagnosed with cancer and recently staeted Chemotherapy. Her doctor has told her not to drink from public machines/fountain drinks. Therefore, when she arrived to eat at Cocodries, she explained to the waitress her situation and asked to bring a bottled drink inside with her. The waitress told her that they didn't usually allow outside drinks in, but it would be okay. A few minutes later, the waitress had the AUDACITY to come to my mother's table and take her drink from her. She said she had spoken with the manager and that this was not allowed. My mother was so embarrassed and mortified that she had to leave the restaurant, literally in tears. She told me this story because she felt so badly about the incident. She feels that SHE was at fault! She would never want anyone to think that she was trying to do something dishonest... It's a good thing I wasn't there, but management will recieve a nice letter from me.

Cocodrie's was the worst restaurant I have ever been to in this state. Bad service and a bad attitude. First of all, we found a hair in one of our meals. When we approached the waitress about the hair being in the meal, she acted like she did not believe us and then asked us to show the hair. It was windy, and we had put the hair on the side, so there was no evidence. We then asked to see the manager, (Which took forever) who was not happy to see us and didn't want to take off the price off the meal with the hair. After debating the issue she finally, reluctantly, agreed. (I feel this shouldn't have been questioned.) We were "evidently" a party of six or more, but really were two partys paying on seperate checks, and were therefore asked to pay an extra 2 forced tips for this horrible service. When we refused and said this requirment was unjust, the manager threatened to call the deputy if we did not pay the tip, which would have ensued in us going to jail. So in the end, we had to pay, 10.69 tip, 6.80, with the hair in the food. To sum it up, this was a bad restaurant.

We have eaten here several time. Each time hoping they have hired a real staff. We had a party of 9 once and were told on the phone we could be "taken care of". Not really. I asked for the manager and here comes a girl that should've been home, it was past her curfew!
The food was AMAZING, then, they have been changing the menu. I never ordered pork chops in a restaurant. I tried them here, GREAT! Nice portions too.
Good food 8 out of 10 times. Service 0 out of 10 times. Not kidding. We have tried this restaurant around 10 times and just simply stopped going. We can't say we didn't give them chances. EVERY single time, bad service. The managers are the worst! I know it seems unbelievable, management, bad service all those times, ect... but it's true!
We ended up leaving after waiting 45 minutes for them to seat our big party at all seperate tables. While in their restaurant, we called a near by crab place on a saturday at 8:15pm and asked if they would take an adult b-day of 9. They said "come on over". They too were busy, but seated us in a room off to the side right away. The night was saved. We now go to that crab house!
*The funny thing is, Cocodries had a similar room empty off the bar and we asked the high school-manager why we all couldn't sit in there. She simply said no. Soo sad, we are locals.

I've been to this restaurant several times. Each time presented a different experience.

The three things that are consistant are slow service, awesome portions and really good food!

The prices are too high considering the scenic seating now only provides a view of a man made dune, not the sea shore. Good food or not, without that view the prices are insulting. Change the view and the prices would be worth it all the way.

This restaurant is wonderful! The wait staff is friendly and efficient. The food is amazing. You can eat inside for a more formal experience, or you can eat on the deck and enjoy the ocean. We love this place.
