On holiday from England we had planned to re-visit St John Fisher Church. It took us a good while after 25 years. It is a lovely looking large church, bright white with striking external lined shape. Probably concrete & long lasting. It is in a beautiful location right on Lake Mangonia and in a large open land area. Plenty of parking space. Probably more is planned around there. We visited mid-day Tuesday 6th May 2008. Unfortunately it was closed but we enjoyed the visit in any case. Said a little prayer outside. As former residents of WPB and Catholics we used St John Fisher at 1439 40 St. This church on the lake is presumably the latest and probably a growth in population has inspired the new church.Charles & Samuel Rickard were baptised in St J Fisher 23 February 1975. We wanted to revisit the scene & were amply rewarded by seeing the new church. Both boys have married within the last 5 years & had to write to the priest at St J F for their Baptism records. Thanks to the resident priest hey received the documents and were able to have Catholic weddings here in England where they now reside. For anyone trying to find the church from the north side, we went east on 45 St then south on Australian Ave, shortly along about 100 yards is a small sign directing to St J F . You need to be quick to see it !. Then it is what seems like a mile drive along a windy road to the end of the road. There the church hits you like a blaze of glory. Good old and new St John Fisher !If any one knows the story of ST J F over the last few years culmination in this 'new' church we would be interested to hear.Tony & Sue Rickardemail rickard2525@aol.com.PS Now we know exactly where the church is we expect our children & their children will be visiting in the not too distant future.

Great experience
Better than expectation
Specialize in giving hope & happiness
No deal better
Recommend to everyone
