After discussing what the vaccination requirements were with two different receptionists who had worked at this office for more than a year each and being assured BY BOTH that annual vaccines are left to the discretion of the dog owner, I decide to use this vet. My dog got one of the worst exams I have ever seen and I have owned many dogs over many years. The male vet there seemed to be afraid to touch my poor scared old toy dog even though I told him he'd never bitten anyone in the 10 years I'd had him. Then prior to scheduling the procedure, vet tech spent a good 30 minutes pushing the wellness plan at me and trying to convince me what a good deal it was cause the annual vaccines were included. I kept saying over and over that I don't do annual vaccines and in the end my dog was scheduled for his badly needed dental cleaning the next week. When I arrived early to drop him off after braving rush hour traffic, the vet refused to do the procedure 'cause I didn't have his vaccination records which they had never mentioned or requested at the exam?!?! When I tried to discuss this with the vet, he was very condescending and rude blaming me for not bringing in the records and refusing to take responsibility for his never telling me he wanted them. I am grateful they didn't do any more to my dog if this is how they handle the simple part of the exam, I'd fear for my dog to have had anything more done. They also charge for every little thing so the exam costs double what other vet offices charge. After several odd phone calls & persistent requests to their corporate office, I was finally put in touch with their regional director who was very receptive regarding my feedback about my experience & immediately agreed to refund the money I paid for the initial exam but it was too late to change my mind about this practice. I hope she is able to do what she promised and turn this place around for the sake of future clients & their pets' health.

I do not agree at all with the other review posted here. We found a stray 4 week old kitten and the staff was incredibly helpful. The kitten had been starving (abandoned by its mother), and eating seeds and stones. The doctors at the Altamonte Springs Banfield were amazing and saved this kitten, practically for free. (Kitten needed several procedures.) Our vet at the time wanted to charge me a fortune to look at the kitten. Thanks to this Banfield, the kitten is doing great, and we have made him a part of our family. We are switching all our pets to Banfield.

We took our kitten to Banfield and realized after they took $900+ from us that what they told us is "normal" in kittens. Her liver enzymes were high and the Dr would not allow us to get her spade. They wanted us to go to a specialist for $500 to walk in the door. We decided to get a second opinion from a Cat Specialist...they told us this is typical in kittens and her levels were not high. Please do not make the same mistake. Also, DO NOT get the "wellness plan"...it's a waste!
