We took our first cruise aboard Carnival Triumph and it was an awesome experience. So much to do! We visited Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Jamaica, and took advantage of the shore excursions (which you pay extra for) at every stop. When we boarded, they were passing out a flier saying our departure would be delayed due to them fixing some engine problem, but this worked to our advantage. Instead of arriving in Cozumel in the morning and spending the day snorkeling like we planned, we arrive in the afternoon, so we signed up for an evening horseback riding tour which took us through Mayan ruins,to a native show in a cave, and dinner including unlimited margaritas and a pinata party! Horseback riding through the jungle by torchlight was just the coolest thing, and we would have missed it if it weren't for the engine trouble! The captain did a good job making up the time and the rest of the cruise was on schedule. In Grand Cayman I highly recommend going to Stingray city, which is a sandbar where you can feed stingrays by hand in waist deep water. You can book this trip on the ship, but it is cheaper to do it from one of the many tour companies on shore. In Ocho Rios Jamaica, we took a sea-kayak tour to Dunn's River Falls, where you can walk up the waterfall and the bus picks you up at the top. Very scenic, bring a waterproof camera! The ship itself was large, plenty of food at all hours, we especially likes the reuben sandwiches at the NY Deli. They have a large casino on board, I actually won enough $ at the roulette table to pay for all our shore excursions! My girlfriend liked the fact they allowed topless sunbathing on the funnel deck, so no tan lines (also, no cameras or anyone under 18 allowed!) The dining room was huge & classy, they had one dress up night (suit or jacket, dress or evening gown for the ladies) but most of the time was pretty informal. You pay for everything with a carnival cruise card, and settle up when you leave..you can check your balance on one of the TV channels in your room. The service staff was EXCELLENT, very professional and attentive. I had been worried about getting seasick before the trip, but with stabilizer bars and the size of the ship, it was never an issue, so don't let that fear stop you!

For a middle rate cruise Carnival is just fine. The cruise ship is pretty nice, though the pool looked kind of dirty. For food, their was a buffet, pizza parlor, and the formal dining room. All were okay except for the formal dining room which really impressed me. For entertainment there were several bars, a theater that had an absolutely hilarious comedian, and they even had rock climbing on the ship. This was a good time for family, friends, and couples.

A Carnival Cruise is always sure to please. Not only are their cruise rates low (even lower if you are eligible for a military discount) but their ships are clean and staff is friendly. They offer cruises to a number of destinations around the world and offer prime dining and entertainment. I've been on two cruises (Conquest (Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cozumel) and Valor(St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Nassau)) and the cruise directors on both were just awesome (Corey and Josh respectively). They are really waht makes part of a great cruise, since they are essentially the host. Captian Giovanni has manned both ships I was on and he got us to our destinations safely and in a timely manner.

Well, when I had been there for an interview, everybody was very helpful and basically everything was so very well planned that not much help was required. When i checked out how they work, the reservation agaents took every call at high priority, all customer needs were met, and so were mine.
