AWFUL !!!! My father passed away at this hospital just a week ago. It was very unexpected. Thankfully, my mom and brother left because about 5 minutes later the billing rep came by to get some information. First of all, we were in the family waiting room and another doctor later told us that they should not have come into this room at all. Knowing I am the only person there related to him this woman proceeds to ask questions about my dad's birth date, social, residency and then wants me to sign a document for treatment. I have been informed that I lost my father less than 30 min ago and she wants permission to treat him??? I asked her For what!! He's dead!! Apparently, in their rush to get paid they do not have any steps in place to make sure these kinds of things do not happen. My husband spoke to someone who said they would discuss the situation with the board of directors. I cannot believe the insensitivity of this place. This should not happen. It's not like it was just a mistake. They just do not care enough to have some kind of protocol in place to make sure this doesn't happen. I will never use their services again. I have heard some bad things about this hospital but this is unacceptable.

I went into labor on 12/28/07. I'm writing this because I want all people to know how I was treated at this hospital in hopes you will avoid it, and protect your health rather than just accept what a doctor tells you. I have three children my third child who was born here may have lifelong complications due to his delivery. I will be looking into legal advice. This has happened awhile back but things did not become noticeable to me right away until two to three years after my child was born. He never sits still, and has signs of autism but it may not be autism but heart problems, and lack of oxygen due to an inducement, and drug that were not needed during my delivery. I did have a scheduled inducement on this date but I went into labor at 4am the previous night, and did not need the inducement. I was induced after I told the nurses I didn't need it which it was pretty obvious to begin with as I had been on a monitor for awhile, and asking for my epidural shot which didn't come for a couple hours. The pain was intense, and horrible at this point all the nurses gave me was a drug that made me feel dizzy like I had taken something illegal. How can they give anything like this to a woman who is pregnant is beyond normal. Anything in me is going to go to my baby. I felt like punching these people they had taken the most vulnerable time in my life were I couldn't defend myself, or my baby. To make matters worse one of the nurses told me to walk after I got an epidural. I could not feel my legs but these people didn't care about their patients it was just a paycheck to them. I was asked if I wanted to breast feed which I said I would try, and the nurse puts the baby right on the iv in my arm unaware that it was hurting me, and could care less. I personally feel my sons delay in development is from the delivery at this hospital we are getting tests done on his heart, and blood pressure for complications from lack of oxygen at delivery. Just please look for more caring people, and a better hospital to deliver your baby, or deliver your baby at home if you can.

My mother was in a bad car accident on March 9th 2012 and was rushed to brandon hospital. NEVER have i experienced worse service. 1) the ambulance took their time getting her to the hospital (25 minutes to go 10 miles) (I arrived before they did). 2) the hospital staff said they would let me know when she arrived and they did not which caused her to be alone after a very traumatic incident for at least 30 min. 3) She was profusely bleeding from her face and no one gave her so much as a napkin to slow the bleeding until I asked a nurse for something. 4) Her shoulder and arm are broken in several places and require re-constructive surgery- the hospital gave her 800 mg of Motrin for this amount of pain (Like that would really help). 5) The man that stitched up her face started the stitching process BEFORE the numbing shot set in. Even after she repeatedly screamed "Its not numb yet!" he ignored her and continued to stitch. He was also EXTREMELY rough with the gash in her face. 6) Even though she told the doc that she had hit her head in the crash they didnt do a cat scan or any head exam. She has exhibited every symptom of a concussion that there is. 7) They also only x-rayed the top of her arm and her shoulder even though she told the doctor all of her arm hurt, including the bottom.
This was the worst medical experience my family has ever experienced and I would highly recommend for people to use ANY other hospital than this one.

I highly recommend Brandon Regional Hospital to anyone! We have a very intense birth plan and i was nervous giving birth at the hospital for this reason. i was worried they would just brush it off and not at least help stick to it. Every single nurse that worked with us did a FANTASTIC job in accommodating us and followed it perfectly. They were super nice and didn't treat us rudely because of our birth plan. The OB that we had was Dr. Zweibach and he also did an amazing job to help us follow our birth plan. I am still grateful how we were treated and how fantastic they did! I rant and rave about them all the time!

I have absolutely NOTHING good to say about this hospital. After bringing my father in for what seemed to be the onset of a heart attack, the ER began by treating it like a nonchalant issue and taking their time. Since then, they have had him stuck in a cardiology observation unit (that at most people should stay 24 hours in...it's been two days now) and the miscommunication has been monumental. Simply getting water for him is extraordinary task for these people, and their consistent excuse is "shift changes." No one has changed the nurse sign since he has arrived, even though the nurse listed hasn't been here in over a day. The nursing staff rarely checks on him, and we had to ask to even get a menu to order him food. The nurse practitioner (that he has seen once) was rude and condescending, insisting she told him things that I know she has not, and refused to acknowledge this. And at the first sign that I was becoming irrate and wanted to take my father elsewhere, I was seemingly threatened that they would list it as him leaving against medical advice, that his tests so far would not be disclosed by the cardiologist, and that our insurance company would be notified and possibly not cover the incurred costs. Rest assured I will be pursuing all rights I have in this situation against this hospital.

My dad has been in this joke of a hospital for almost a week and hasn't been told a f*cking thing. The nurse's MUST want me to p*nch them in the face because its whats going to happen if they keep ignoring my father and not tending to his wounds.
He has pneumonia and an infected lung and to holes in his back from his last visit that went HORRIBLY wrong.
I'm going there tomorrow to discharge him because I KNOW Plant City Hospital is face better than this DEATH TRAP.
My land lord REFUSES to go there because they almost k!lled her husband during a simple check up.
DON'T EVER TAKE A PERSON YOU CARE ABOUT HERE.
EVER!!!!
I plan on letting and discouraging anyone from going here.
i make it my mission now, to let everyone how much a bullsh*t operation this place is.

I had my baby at this hospital about a year ago the nurse staff were nice with the exception of three of them. I don't see how we can function as a society when our hospitals are understaffed. When I arrived to deliver my baby I was in pain from strong contractions it had taken them two hours to give me an epidural. One doctor came in and at least had the decency to tell me he had another patient, and that he was sorry. Then a lady came in, and was very unpleasant to deal with she was rude. Then I tried to breastfeed my baby because it is cheaper, and healthy but it was not working for me so I told the nurse that I wanted to stop this but she kept pushing the baby against my breast. Then I got angry after that then she let go. I swear if something is wrong with my child I will *** this hospital. The doctor I had did not even deliver my baby. Then the nurse gave me a pill that did nothing for the pain only made my head spin which really made me angry. They were lucky I was in the condition I was in or they would not hear the last of me. I later asked for tylenol after having my baby from the stomach cramps but did not recieve any. The nurses had taken forever to get to my room. At least I lived close to home when I left to get some tylenol. Then we got a bill in the mail for charges that were not sent to our private insurance. My suggestion is if you have private insurance, and can choose were you want to go don't go here.

Yea so back in the day there was a long wait. They've cut back the wait time in the ER by 50%. I've never had any problems with the employees, I've always been treated with the TLC that I've needed. They listen, treat and explain everything that they are doing or will be doing to make sure that you are aware of whats going on. There is a poster that says " We Want You To Be Very Satisfied" in the ER waiting lobby.. they mean what they say. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns; they are more than happy to converse with you about your problems. I would refer any family or friends there if need be. Not to mention the Labor and Delivery area of the hospital... one of the best that I've seen. The nurses go above and beyond to make sure that the mom to be is happy and prepared for what is ahead. I go there whenever I need to.

Staff and overall service was inadequate, questionable, worthless and just inexcusable. A sorry place to be. Better hope you never have end up there.

Staff and service was deplorable, unfeeling, very very poor. My loved one suffered not because of her condition but because of the faulty equipment and inept staff. Do not go there if you want to live.

I had my baby a couple months ago in the women's center of the Brandon Hospital. The labor/delivery rooms were nice, but hey do have strict rules about who can come up before the baby is born. I could only have 2 people at a time, and my toddler was not allowed to come up. The birth went well though and then I was moved to another room where I stayed for a couple days. The room was a private room and had a couch an chairs for guests. It was nice, and everyone was allowed in. The nurses were also nice and they make checkout go as smooth as possible.

I recomend this hospital to everyone! They are equipped with the necessary medical equipment to accomodate for emergency situations. They have a great maternity ward as well, and I feel proud to deliver my child there.

If you have to go to the ER, get ready to wait, and wait, well, you get the picture. The only time I have never had to wait is when I took my 4 yr old in for respiratory distress.

We went last week with my daughter who had an asthma attack. They got her in to the Pediatric Emergency immedialty and started to work on her. They were very friendly and explained everything to her. She was admited up to the pediatric ward where the staff there is excellent. The children have a special kid friendly menu to order from. They give 1 additional try for the parent who is staying with the child. I have always had great service at Brandon Hospital. And lets face it... no one wants to be there, but if they treat you right when you are there.... it makes it more bearable.

I'm going to give this hospital a fair review as I always do. I do NOT recommend anyone going to this hospital unless it's a dyer need and there's no where else to go. Their employees are not nice, you have to wait forever to be seen by any department of the hospital, and when they do see you, they try and hurry you off instead of listening to what's the problem. Again, I do not recommend this hospital for any service needed.
