I've lived here 2 years and it is getting worse and worse. 1) PARKING: Forget it. If you arrive after 9pm, you will not find a spot. Period. On the average night, I have to park a MINIMUM of 5 buildings away to find a spot. And, there have been times where there were NO spots available at all anywhere in the complex. When I approach the mgmt about the situation, their excuse is that they allow 2 vehicles PER BEDROOM. In my building alone, 2 vehicles per bedroom is about 2x the number of spots available. When reminded that they are in violation of my lease and that legal action may be taken, they refused to discuss the situation further. 2) SAFETY: As said below, there was a murder in the complex a little over a year ago. On several occasions, vehicles have been broken into. I work many nights and more than once have chased off people casing vehicles. One neighbor confronted a couple of kids checking if car doors were locked/stealing from vehicles and then a few days later saw the same kids with their parents--they were residents of the area! The fence in the back has been broken several times so people could cross over from 441. When I reported a recent break-in of a vehicle, my phone call to our "courtesy officer" was never returned. The gate is broken (usually in the open position) more than it works and anyone can follow anyone in due to it's poor design. 3) A/C: In the 2 bedroom units, the room furthest away from the A/C might as well not have any air conditioning at all. I have tried all sorts of solutions including duct fans with no luck. Upon speaking to other residents, we ALL have this same problem. The A/C is extremely inefficient causing electric bills to be very high. (even a timer and setting the house to 80 degrees when gone has not helped much). When the office was confronted recently, they sent a "contractor" to seal all of our units' our ducts which consisted of slapping (with a bare hand) a small amount of spackling compound on the side of the A/C. Time on the job: less than 2 minutes per apartment. I've also noticed several A/C's have failed and had to be totally replaced--a disgrace considering the age of the complex is less than 10 years. 4) Water bills: When I moved here, we had individual water meters in each apartment. We were billed for what we use. I don't use very much water, so my bill was low. Now, they don't use the meters and somehow divide all of the water usage up so we all have high bills. For 4 months, I was in the hospital [NOBODY was here] and yet I still have a $70 per month water bill. 5) NOISE: The racing motorcycles start at about 1am just about every night. I have contacted the police numerous times, but nothing is done. One night (at about 1am), I watched (from my balcony) as 8-10 motorcycles performed 30 LAPS (over an hour) around the various on- and off-ramps of SR84 and 441 while the police were trying to decide which jurisdiction the problem was in. I even invited them to send police to my apartment so they could sit on my balcony and watch the festivities!
