My experience with this particular Aamco Transmissions location (4755 NW 183rd St Opa Locka, FL 33055) has been nothing short of a mixture of heartache and headache. Upon realizing there was something wrong with my car, i took it to my usual mechanic and was told that i had a problem with my transmission. i then decided to get another point of view from a specialist. That is when i called up the nearest Aamco (this location) and was told to bring my car in for a FREE inspection. Upon withholding my car for 3 days, i received word that it wasn't my transmission that is the problem, but in fact my brake calipers were locked up causing my car to take off sluggishly even though im giving it sufficient throttle. So i gave them the go ahead to fix the brakes. The car worked fine for 3 whole days, then the issue of the sluggish take off returned. Took it back about a wI eek and a half later and now I'm being told that i have an electrical problem that is causing my transmission to take off in the wrong gear. So, basically same problem, different issue. My question is that if you are a transmission specialist, shouldn't this have been pointed out the first time? I can't help but to feel that i have been swindled and is being made a fool of. I basically paid an extensive amount of money to have work done on a braking system that most likely wasn't even causing the problem. I took my car back home, but he (the owner of this location) is urging me to bring it back in. I only have one thing to say, and that is they will never place their hands on my car ever again or on any other car i may own after this one. I have lost all trust in Aamco from one bad experience that shouldn't have been so, because if you're going to run a business at least be fair and not trying to rip people off. Really nice and friendly attitude, but horrible intentions. A real wolf in sheep's clothing.
