Just an awful experience. The charges were so excessive on all the little things. If the company is paying go for it if you are paying there are so many other places that do not do the tricky overcharging. Food not so good. Check out

Each year we stay on vacation at the Tradewinds. It's a conference center and resort comprised of 4 or 5 different hotel buildings and conference rooms. They have many pools and childrens' areas and has a private beach on the Gulf of Mexico. You are truly treated like royalty with crew members standing by to open doors and carry bags for you. Their kids "K.O.N.K." Club is a daily activity center that plans your child's activities each day. They go on pirate hunting parties and do all kinds of excursions, crafts and parties. It's a luxury vacation that is well worth the money. The only down side is that you never want to leave.

This hotel resort should be a Holiday Inn for the price you pay... I mean it wasn't horrible, BUT it wasn't 4 stars - as they claim. The front desk staff is horrible, but the restaurant staff rocks (there are a total of 7 restaurants)... even the towel service is better. But when it comes to management, they are substandard. I notice so many people contesting their bills. We had several discrepancies on our bill - TOO MANY, so be aware!!!. If you want to pay for great service, stick to the Don Cesar. It's probably the same price! Oh yeah... it's NOT for adults who want to relax - too many kids running around EVEN IN THE ADULTS ONLY SECTION - I mean there were kids playing pool - actually they were sward fighting with the cue sticks.

Our conference was held at the Tradewinds Resort last year and it was top notch! We had over 100 attendees and from the rooms to the catering, you felt like you were the only group there. It is hard to find a resort that doesn't have resort fees, free parking, etc. You are paying for the experience and to keep just anyone from using the parking lot and the resort itself. There are so many options at this resort for food that you don't have to go outside the resort unless you want to. We had people staying at the Tradewinds and at the Tradewinds Sandpiper. We always had staff there to help direct our group for meetings and receptions. It was such a great place to host our conference that we have booked again for next year! I would highly recommend this resort to for planning an event.

How is the canal even a selling point, everytime I past it I thought a gator would pop out, but maybe that is my naivetee. They prefer freshwater I guess. This was not a pleasant experience really and from what I saw online I was really expecting more. We were part of a big group that comes annually and the registration was a nightmare. Hot and tired I arrived late only to be told that the bellhop "was really tied up". Then I got lost going to my "Jacaranda" building, it was such a labyrinth. Lost and carrying my luggage because no one at this EXPENSIVE resort was there to help. Even the next day when my card got demagnitized the personnel was less than helpful. The room was clean , but small and we had -no joke a 12 inch balcony after requesting one with a view. They had the nerve to put chairs out there too, they didn't even fit right! And to top it all off we were in Hell's Kitchen, next to the room service and went to bed and woke up in the AM to clickety clanking of dishware. RIDiculous! There was no compensation for the balcony and noise and that;s why I think they should go out of business. The room service was nice though.
