I have been taking my pets to Dr. Steven Berg for almost 30 years. I have never see a doctor including an MD more passionate about their client than Dr. Berg. I just would not trust anyone with my pets.

Dr. Steven Berg is the best Vetrinarian. He is more then a vetrinarian as he cares for our pets as if they are his own. His advise is always professional and in the best interest of our pets. Most of all he is caring and has a wonderful heart. It does not get any better then Dr. Steven Berg. He is simply Exceptional with a capital "'E". ;)

I am appalled at a couple of the comments on this page. I have used Pines West Animal Hospital for over 12 years with my 2 dogs and 5 cats and rabbits. From the very beginning, I knew that I had found the most loving and caring vet for my loving pets. Dr. Meecham along with another vet there was able to save my dying Doberman when he was 11 years old from an auto-immune disease and we had him for an extra year. He was under her loving care, right up until the end of his life. He loved her immensely and it was obvious from the held-back tears in her eyes during our visits, that she loved him too. I cannot say enough about the care he and our other family pets received there. I would and have recommended Pines West Animal Hospital to many people including my daughter that owns a 3 lb. Yorkie. How anyone can say that this vet office killed their pet is beyond my imagination. If they feel that your pet needs an emergency hospital, then they recommend that to you. By the way, when my daughter's Yorkie had another dogs' tooth go through her skull when she was a baby, she was taken to the EMERGENCY Cooper City Animal Clinic on Stirling Rd and they did emergency surgery. It is the same thing as going to an emergency room for a human. Otherwise, I would take my pets to Pines West Animal Hospital. I will be moving to Central Florida soon and will continue with Dr. Meecham's office to take care of my pets. I am forever grateful for the loving care of Dr. Meecham and her staff. They are truly remarkable. It saddens me to think that they would be blamed for any wrongdoing.
Sincerely,

I had just moved into the area with my two dogs and needed a vet to go to. I was referred to Pines West Animal Hospital by my neighbor and I could not have been more pleased with the care that I received there. My one dog suffers from diabetes and I was surprised to find out that I was giving the wrong dose of insulin to my pet. The problem was corrected and my dog is doing fantastic! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and the hours are great. This is a wonderful place to go. Thanks to Dr. Berg, Dr. Meacham and their staff.

We have been customers of Pines West Animal Hospital for over 14 years. After returning home from work on a Saturday morning, I noticed that my Sheltie, who is fourteen years old could not stand on his hind legs. The dog had suffered a stroke over a year ago and as a result was blind. However he was able to go outside to do his business. When the hospital opened at 7 AM, we brought the dog in only to be told that there was no Vet. on duty and that we should have brought the dog to the emergency animal hospital in Cooper City. In fact we were told that no Vets. would be in for approximately one-half hour and that we should take our dog to this clinic. As the driving time was about the same, we decided to wait.

As stated, our Sheltie has been a member of the family for 14 years old. Our seventeen year old son had grown up with Champ. The attitude and lack of caring on the part of the counter staff was shocking, When I advised her that our dog could not stand, her attitude became even more flippant and she actually engaged i n a shouting match with me. She refused to call a Vet. to advise that we were waiting. In fact, she refused to show any compassion toward us having to deal with the possible loss of a member of the family. If this is indicative of the people that are working in this Animal Hospital, then I will be taking my future business elsewhere.

The female vet in 2006 refused to see my pet because they were busy. I had called the night before and told them my dog was deathly ill and I was driving home from Northern Florida. I told them I had taken my dog to the emergency room and the wanted to do surgery right away. I told the emergency vet in Northern Florida that I did not feel comfortable with that and would it be alright if I drove home to my normal vet. They said do it immediately. I drove all night to be at my beloved and trusted vet's office first thing in the morning. My thoughts were, I had complete confidence and comfort with my hometown vet because I had been going there almost 8 years.

Well, I brought the dog into Pines West Animal Hospital, my beloved vet's office and after me BEGGING and PLEADING for the vet to look at my dog, after telling the receptionists to please explain to the vet one more time that this dog is very very sick and where I'd come from... the answer was NO and that I could come back tomorrow. I came back to my beloved vet's office the following day, and another male vet examined my dog. He said my dog was very sick (problem his pancreas) and he sent me immediately to a surgical hospital where my dog died that night from heart failure. The vet there said it was just too long before he got help.

I don't know why a woman would get into a job like a vet and be so cold hearted. My dog weighed 5 pounds and was very precious. This was not a misunderstanding on the vet's part, it was a cold hearted death sentence that she handed to my dog.

Pines West Animal hospital in very convienantly located in the Winn Dixie Plaza so there is ample parking. You can get an appointment fairly quick. The vet really spends time with your pet, talks to him, cuddles him and treats the pet as if it were on of their own. Exams are very thourough. You can also purchase food here as well.
