This is a great restaurant for special occasions. The setting is beautiful. Make sure to save time for a stroll along the river after dinner!

I was looking forward to this for Mother's Day and I was disappointed for the amount of money we spent (for any amount of money for that matter!) The food was poor and the service was mediocre. First, the appetiser we ordered was Cocunut

My first visit to this restaurant was a huge disappointment. I had gotten the feeling that its water front location might be its strength... and this visit confirms it. For the price it's not a good value. I found the waitress service to

I enjoy my dinners at Chart House. My server for years was Burt but he recently moved to Hawaii so at this point I am trying to find a replacement for him but all in all... I love this place. They seriously have the best Salad Bar in

My husband and I went to The Chart House this past weekend during downtown's festival of lights. The experience was the worst time we ever had at a restaurant. We pulled up for valet parking, the valet was the rudest person that I have ever met. He snatched the keys from my husband and grumbled that he would have to "find a spot" for our car. As we were leaving the restaurant, we saw the same valet yelling at a woman in the parking lot. I will never eat here again. There are plenty of other places in downtown Jax to eat!

My husband and I are very wealthy people who happen to be african american... and visited The Chart House on 06/20/2009. When we arrived the front desk hostess made us wait for at least 10 min before even recognizing that we where waiting to be seated. Long story short we had to wait to be seated at a table for 30 min when there where 10 tables availiable. My spouse and I went to the bar to wait and waited for about 15 min without anyone taking our drink order.... ironiclly two gentleman sat next to me at the bar whom recieved immediate attention. There is a caucasion white male that is a bartender with a buzz hair cut who is blantly might not like people of other races. If you are weathy black or any other race for that matter dont waste your time. Money is money and my money is green just like everyone elses. Go eat at Mortons steak house across the street. Dont waste your time here!

Pros: Its a nice building.... and thats it!

Cons: The staff is rude and really dont care to work

The chart house has a meat market bar at the front door if you are interested. Cater to large loud parties. This is not for anyone older than 45. Restaurant is not ADA accessible and they don't care.

Parking is blocked so you must use their valet but be forewarned that the neighborhood is dangerous after dark.

Try Morton's, Wine Celler or Tree Steak House if you really want either a steak or nice fish dinner.

Lastly, it is vastly overrated by visting businessmen and very expensive.

While looking for a good seafood restaurant in Jacksonville, I came across Chart House and remembered going to their Hawaii location numerous times. Granted, we did not have reservations, and when told it would be a 30 minute wait, we went to the bar. After ordering our drinks at the bar, the bartender told us that our table was ready. I explained that the hostess said it would be 30 minutes, but he insisted that we pay out and see the hostess. Well, of course our table was NOT ready, and we had lost our seats at the bar. After about another 15 minute wait, we were led to our table.

Our server was very friendly and our appetizer came out promptly. I ordered the filet and grilled shrimp and my friend ordered the swordfish. It then took us over half an hour to receive our dinner, and when we finally did get it, my filet was over cooked and my grilled shrimp were also overcooked AS WELL as ice cold. The food was VERY disappointing, and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. It's a shame since the Hawaii location was so good.

I was in Jacksonville on business, and ended up at the Chart House with a business associate. I agree with other reviews that it wasn't necessarily romantic. I was actually relieved... I was comfortable there with another male business partner. The decor was fascinating: sort of a round, concrete building with windows facing the river. It was sort of retro-sixties without being tacky. The menu was nice, but not overly impressive. The lobster spring rolls were good, but sort of bland. They tried to make up for that with a horseradish dip that was way too overpowering. The snapper hemingway was nice, but somewhat "fishy." There was a huge amount of lump crab meat on top though, and the crab was excellent. The service was great.. absolutely no complaints. They were attentive, without being overbearing. My experience with Jacksonville restaurants is limited, but I'd try it again.

My wife and I have never had an unsatisfactory meal at ANY Chart House location. Back int the 1960s we used to frequent the La Jolla Chart House in California. Terrific. Now that we are retired, we occasionally visit the Chart House in Jacksonville, FL. With no family locally to celebrate holidays with, we find the Chart House to be a terrific spot for our own private celebrations.

Pros: Always open on holidays.
Great bar: Macallan scotch, etc.
Terrific salad bar.
Excellent service.
Consistenlty good food.

Cons: A Little pricey.

We love the Chart Houses, and arrange to meet relatives and friends for holiday meals whenever possible. Great salad bar. Consistent service.

Not the romantic spot at ALL. Went there for an anniversary and will NEVER go back. It is so stuffy and not at all a romantic sitting. I could have a better and more romantic time being attacked by ants at a picnic along the river. The food was AWFUL. I had prime rib which was very DRY and had NO TASTE. I have had better food and better experience at many other smaller places. I just feel really terrible because lots of thought was put into picking this place and was very disappointed. Could NOT wait to leave and did NOT stick around for dessert.

The restaurant was attractively decorated and it has a unique architecture. The service was wonderful. The food was good and the oysters were delicious. The dishes are a little pricy, but it was worth it.

All I can say is WOW!!!. The Chart House is a great place to go and enjoy the Jacksonvile Atmosphere and fine dinning. 1st off A great location, right off the South Bank River Walk. Just Park at the River City Brewing Co. and walk to dinner enjoying the great river view as you do so. Once in the air is relaxed but very much upscale. The service was what I expect from a resurant of this caliper. The food is good, served in adequate portions with great presentation. Once dinner is done you can walk it off on the way back to your car, where if you decide you want to enjoy a few drinks you can visit the River City Brewing Co. I always refer it to my friends and business associates as a must stop when in Jacksonville.

As a hospitality professional, I am difficult to please. I have frequent Chart House five times in the last 12 weeks. Everyone was wonderful especially the young lady that prepares the ceasar salad. I do not believe she remembers me but she is always outgoing. I have noticed her interaction with other patrons and they receive the same awesome attention. This past Sunday we visited Chart House. She insisted that we try the fruit and made us a fruit plate. KUDOS. My family will continue to be patrons.
