Wish You Were Here is, as the name would lead you to believe, is a small, cozy, almost boutique kind of hotel on the Intracoastal Waterway and right by the Swim Museum where Olympians come to train and practice quite often. It's also just a few steps from a Water Taxi stop, and about two blocks from the beach itself.

It's a cute little place with decent rooms and reasonable rates. They aren't big rooms, but they are more than adequate and pretty comfy actually. They are kept very clean too.

The mangement here is on-site and very nice folks. Unfortunately, this place has been sold to one of the big developers currently moving in on the beach over the past year so it won't be here much longer.

As I write this in July 2005, they are still taking guests and if you are coming down soon I do recommend you stay here for the future nostalgia value alone. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and all the action is just up on the beach within very easy walking distance even for me, and I have Lupus.

So yes, get there before they tear it down. It's going to be a real shame to lose one of the old staples of the island.

PROS: Location, cute, clean, reasonably priced
CONS: It's been sold.
