On 8/1/08, my bank attempted to created a transfer between two checking accounts that I have. This transfer was SUPPOSED to occur on 8/08/08. On the same day, I went to Lisa's and wrote a check for a gift certificate for a co-worker's birthday. The check caused an overdraft and was returned unpaid to the merchant due to the error on the part of my bank. I did not catch the error until the next week, on 08/08 when I checked my balance. I immediately went to the bank and they refunded all of the NSF fees and thankfully (so I felt at the time) this was the only returned check as I had written no others. When I asked the personal banker at my bank what to do, she advised that I contact the merchant in a few days and I should be able to pick up my check after paying any fees and then the bank would reimburse me for the fees also. Sounded good to me. I then waited a few days, as advised, to allow the check sufficient time to be returned to the merchant from his bank. I contacted Mr. John Tran, owner and proprietor, by telephone on 08/14 and explained that I had a check returned. Well, his English was terrible and all I could really discern from speaking to him was that he used telecheck recovery services, and I could pay through them or pick it up from the store. At least this is what I THOUGHT he was saying. I said Okay, I would do one or the other in the next day or so and we ended our conversation. I then looked up the 800 # online and called telecheck to see if I could just pay them over the phone... more convenient for me as I am a busy professional. They did not have the check and she told me to call back on Monday and that perhaps it would be in their system by them. Well, on Monday (8/18) I was told the same thing. I then decided to go to Lisa's and just pick it up in person on my way home from work. This is where the situation got UGLY. Upon entering the salon, I was greeted by Mr. Tran. I stated that I was there to pick up a check, and he then proceeded to turn around and begin toriffle through file cabinet drawers and bank bags for a few minutes... didn't even ask my name! He then comes back to the counter and states " you pay me $38 plus check." I stated that was fine, but he would need to return my check to me upon payment. He then proceeded on his telecheck spiel again. i told him that I already contacted telecheck and they do not have the check. He then became verbally abusive "this is not my fault, is your fault" and so forth. I said to him, look, I just want to pick up my check. I said to him "if I can't pick it up here, can you please tell me where ? Instead, he continued on his tirade- now making a full-fledged scene. At this point I was becoming angry, as he had now embarrassed me in front of the 10 or so customers and employees and threw my hands up and walked out. I later tried to call to see if i could possibly speak to someone with better English who I could actually explain the situation to and get some answers, but was greeted with Mr. Tran's verbal abuse yet again.I believe he became so angry because he could not find the check and thought he was going to be paid for it anyway. However, I was advised by my bank that to protect myself i should have the check returned to me at time of payment as he could actually redeposit that check and get double paid, could claim i never paid him and turn it over to collections, or create some other similarly precarious type situations for myself. The bottom line- this guy is a poor businessman with a low degree of professionalism. I am a respected professional who does not go around writing worthless checks all over town- I am the VICTIM of this situation as well., Further, I am not accustomed to being mistreated in the manner in which Mr. Tran assaulted me. He assumed I was a dirt bag POS who intentionally wrote him a bad check and proceeded to treat me accordingly by verbally attacking and abusing me... and to make matters worse this issue is as-to-date unresolved. The personal banker at my bank has offered to waive the fees to stop payment on the check if I go pay him. I told her that after his behavior that I was afraid to go back to his shop to pay him, that I would rather deal with Telecheck after he submits it. Telecheck still doesn't have the check, and talks to me like I'm garbage every time I call them as well- double abuse!!!! I have never been so humiliated in public as I was the day he shouted at me in front of everyone in his shop. While I understand that he is a victim as well, there is no reason for him to make assumptions and personal attacks upon me, it's totally uncalled for and ridiculous. Be an adult already! I want this to be over, but I cannot go back and be subjected to that again. Had he handled this situation differently I would have remained a loyal customer. As-is, I am inclined to tell EVERYONE I can about this nightmare experience, his poor business practices and outrageous behavior toward me.

I got a major infection after visiting Lisa's Nails recently. My toe swelled up to twice its size, and I had to go to the doctor for it to finally heal. I went to the owner and she said that is a risk you take when getting a pedicure. I do not agree with that statement as I have been getting pedicures for years and have never gotten an infection before. Visit Lisas nails at your own risk.

This nail salon gives awesome spa pedicures and does a great job with acrylic nails. The only downfall is that they stay busy! They offer free drinks and have tvs and massage chairs to soothe you! Try this all for a relaxing day!

Lisa's nails was affordable (35 dollars for manicure/pedicure combined) and enjoyable. The salon is equipped with 4 well kept Spa chairs for pedicures and they offers refreshments and reading during your appointment. I like it because they accept walk-ins and I've never had to wait more than 20 minutes to have my nails done. The staff takes extra care to massage your arms/hands and legs/feet throughout your session and the finished product is very acceptable. Well worth the money if you're going to get both a manicure and pedicure. A little pricey for manicure only (17 dollars).
