I went to 3 other retailers before going to visionworks in town! I walked out, I nearly got trampled upon by the one across from Gov. Sq. mall- nobody helped me and they had too many people there to know what was going on. I had to finally head across town to Visionworks, knowing their history as one of the longest standing ones in town.
Whew! Glad I made the trip! I was immediately assisted when I walked in the door, lighting was bright enough to see & while they were equally busy it was large enough I didn't get trampled and staffed well enough I was also noticed.
Ed helped me make a choice in frame styles to look at, and in the end rang me up and filed my insurance having to place several calls to my company as well. Barbara put in my order & knew exactly what she was doing her experience and knowledge showed & made me grateful I'd chosen NOT to use a bunch of kids who barely looked like they knew their job much less the importance of glasses for the people that use them! Barbara got me fitted and adjusted perfectly after I picked them up.
My frames were ready the next day- even before they had promised!

I loved this place. I had my glasses break and one of the reps was nice enough to help me find a nice looking replacement pair and then replaced them for me.
He also then went out of his way to find out if they had a deal going on at the time to give me the best price.
Awesome place!

Getting my first pair of glasses was turned into a nightmare having chosen to buy from Visionworks. Barbara who fitted me was great! Then came the workmanship issues.
My glasses never seemed right, so i didn't wear them. One day on the way to the coast I thought I'd try them again, and held them up to the light to see if they were clean and they had horizontal lines in both lenses that were not scratches. They were inside the lenses. They were distance glasses and not bifocal.
I took them back, they tried to charge me for redoing the lenses, but I would not as I had not had them even a year, nor wore them. They agreed.
I wore these, and then before another year went by, the same thing happened! I took them back, and they said there was no charge last time because it was within the year warranty (funny how they tried to charge me back then and mentioned nothing about a year warranty), but this time they'd have to charge me. Even though this was clearly faulty work (as my glasses were not scratched, dented, they looked brand new) they would not budge. I contacted the customer service of the home office that the store manager gave me, and basically got the same answer. They would discount it and only cost me $197. I asked them why should I invest more money, have them redone, then before a year is up be back at them same situation. They can't explain why the lines showed up, they don't stand behind their work, and then try to charge you for their mistakes. The customer service rep. was trained to over talk the client, not listen to the logic of the complaint, and try to misunderstand to cause confusion. Basically it wouldn't matter, as she knew before she answered the call that the company wasn't going to "lose" any money.
Bottom line is BUYER BEWARE, my experiences with this company have proven, it is not a company with integrity, it is more like a really bad car sales company. I use that analogy because I think most people can relate to those bad experiences when shopping or buying a car.

After filling out insurance information. I waited more than 35 minutes for a scheduled appointment without being processed. When I asked if it would be much longer, the employee was rude and dismissive. In general, the employees all seemed rather unhappy and, on top of everything else, the bathrooms are disgusting. The whole experience left a sour taste in my mouth.

I would strongly recommend not going anywhere near this establishment.

Sometime ago, I had my glasses upgraded. I selected the plan whereby for about $50 more, I could get another pair of classes. I do not remember there being a time limit (by either them telling me, or having it written anywhere), but when my wife went in, they told her there was a 30 day period limit, and that the coupon? had expired. I will not be going there again, nor will I recommend Visionworks.

I have been seeing Dr. Nicole Golding, the optometrist at VisionWorks for a couple of years. She is attentive, knowledgable, friendly, and efficient! When I moved here, she immediately diagnosed my astigmatism and corrected it properly, where my previous, trusted family eye doctor had misdiagnosed it for years! Finally I can see...and it is all thanks to Dr. Golding!

I've also heard the doctor speak Spanish to her Hispanic patients and she seemed like a natural! She is also great with kids.

The receptionists are so busy, but unlike other places they still take time to be friendly and greet you when you come in and answer any questions you have.

In the eyewear section of the store, I found the sales staff to be very helpful complete experts at fitting frames to faces. I was such a difficult customer - I knew what I wanted but couldn't describe it to the salesman. But he quickly found me the perfect frame!

Another instance, I could have had a bad experience, but it was avoided by the great staff. My glasses were supposed to have a certain coating on them - and I never would have known the difference, but the salesman noticed when I went to pick them up that the technician had not put that coating on it. Fifteen minutes later, I had a brand new, totally different pair with the right coating and I got to watch them cut and make it right in front of me.

What else is there to say? Visionworks is awesome!

Here you have an office- where as I was there recently- I watched them buzz around efficiently in both spanish & english (and probably another I didn't recognize!!!). Yet, it's as calm and relaxed as sitting at home.
These people really know the meaning of the word service- and intend to handle it!
Ed was my salesman- and he was extremely knowledgable & very in tuned to my needs- not the needs of the companies pocket book.
I was informed off all the various sales & plans available to me- and he really met my every need- and more!
Getting more these days is so very rare for a company!
