If you are a salvador dali fan, you will love this museum. It's very nicely done and has a lot of his artwork. I really learned so much more about dali after visiting this museum. This is a definite attraction for one of his fans.

This is an amazing museum showcasing Dali's beautiful work. I would recommend taking a tour in this museum so you don't miss any of the important features in Dali's paintings.

I'm a Salvadore Dali fan myself, so I might be a little biased. But I thought this museum was great. We were visiting the area, and I wanted to make it down to this area to see the museum. I was not disappointed at all. It was a great museum with lots of good Dali pieces. They had a nice gift shop, too. They were running a special show while we were there, but overall, this is a great place for anyone who likes this type of art. I would go again in an instant.

That's right. Because this is an excellent museum. They have many of his original works, including those giant 30 foot high murals. Some of his works are a bit... bizarre to say the least, but that's part of surrealism. I've been coming to this museum for many years now, it is a great experience for those who live in the bay area or who are visiting. Take a friend with you, it's that good.

Take a three D special effects poster. Now blow it up to the size of a wall. Add in imagary that changes depending on where you are standing and earth shattering colors. THAT is Dali. There is a reason this museum has literature in 10 + languages; it is world class. One afternoon might be enough to take in one of his giant paintings, and this museum has several of Dali's last and greatest works.

PROS: art not available anywhere else in the world
CONS: crowds

Most people I know either love Salvador Dali or hate him. So, most people would know if they would like a building full of his work. If you are a fan, there is a large selection at this museum. Besides some of the works most everyone has seen (The Persistence of Memory, one of the ones with the melting clocks) there are also some that are not as well known including sketchbooks. The focal point is 4 megaworks including Columbus Discovering America. There are many special events, including Surreal Fridays during the summer when admission is $5, there is usually a showing of a silent film and a themed band (jazz, etc). There are also food and drinks on those days.

Salvador Dali is such an intriguiging artist I was very excited to make a trip to the Salvador Dali museum in St. Pete. I'm familiar with some of his surrealistic art, but this small museum had hundreds of pieces of his work, both painting and sculptures. His work has a lot of optical illusions and would be interesting for the family, but there are some nude partially/nude images FYI. They also have a gift shop.

I have visited the Salvador Dali Museum many times and each time I go I am amazed. They rotate the artwork with other museums so each time you go you can have an entirely new experience. The staff is friendly and the tours that are offered will provide you with a wealth of information. The museum can also host your next party! Check them out on-line.

It's nice to see that this museum is kept in such great shape. Everything about it is great. The tour guides, the exhibits. I wasn't a huge Dali fan...I went with my husband, but I really enjoyed going to this museum. It's not like a typical artist or museum. I think kids would enjoy this as well. It's a fun place in a really nice location.

One of St. Petersburg's most famous attractions is the Dali museum, which houses the second largest collection of Salvador Dali's art in the world. While viewing Dali's art is a surreal experience in itself, visiting the museum itself is also quite fun. They offer a variety of films related to surrealism and Dali and their gallery changes quite often, so you never see the same thing twice.

The staff is always very friendly, and a well-stocked gift shop catches you before the gallery, offering melted wall clocks, t-shirts, mugs and posters.

For those of you that aren't familiar with Dali's work, beware. It's often bizarre, usually puzzling but always beautiful. This is a must see attracion for visitors to St. Petersburg, and they offer reasonable rates ($10 for adults, students are free!).

PROS: Always something new and interesting, free for students!
CONS: Hard to find location, but will be moving soon.

One of the Jewel's of Tampa Bay! I only wish it wasn't so off the beaten path! Couldn't the City provide better access? Or better yet how about giving it a new home at the top of The Pier! Dali would have approved of the upsidedown pyramid!!

I attended a wedding in Tampa and had some free time, so we came here. It was a fantastic time. Standing in front of Dali's work, which stands to the ceiling, is something to remember. Then, it's good to step all the way to the other side of the room and take another look. You see difference things each time.

I went to visit a friend in Tampa years ago and my favorite part of the trip was going to this museum. It's so easy to forget that Dali is more than melting clocks and a wacky moustache. Bombarded by the staggering collection of work on display here, I was re-converted to the cult of Dali. Permanently. The 14 foot tall painting "The Discovery of America by Christopher Columbus" and a small portrait of his wife still linger in my mind. The only place likely to have a better, more comprehensive collection is the painter's own museum, the Teatre-Museu Dali in Figueres. Face facts: It's cheaper to go to Florida than Spain.
