I've been going to Jeremiah's about every weekend to shoot pool and have some good conversation for six years. Mainly because its 3 blocks from my house and I don't drink and drive.Over the past year I've noticed the clientele diminish.

I have been here on several different ocassions and have been fairly satisfied with their food. I have found at times their service to be slow.

Jeremiah's has been around for a long time. Wayne bought the business when he was just 19 and still owns and managed it today. It is a local mainstay. I think the food is good and the service is better than most places. Some servers have been there awhile and they know how to cater to their regulars and they know how to welcome newcomers. At the bar, Tish is bar none, the best entertainment. She is beautiful and quite the raconteur.
Wendy, another bartender, is sweetness personified and an Angel sent from Bartender heaven. If you want to be entertained, join the locals at the bar during lunch time...their a hoot.
At night, McGregor's next door feeds the local alcoholics, karaoke addicts, and beautiful people of Mt. Dora.
You can't say you've experiences Mt. Dora until you've tried both Jeremiah's and McGregor's.(owned by the same person). I personally think the owner is a bit of a butt, but he obviously knows what he's doing and he's been successful at it.

horrible service. long waits for table and mediocre food. prices are reasonable if you're looking for something less pricey in Mt. Dora, but there are much better places to spend your money

Yes, this is a local hangout, but the food is good. The service is mediocre on the busier nights, so if you want to enjoy the 'local' feel and great atmosphere, I would recommend during the week. On Friday and Saturday nights during season, it's long waits and bad service.

I've tried Jeremiah's three times, and have had bad experiences each time. The food is just OK, the service is always short handed, and there's always a long wait to get in. Avoid this one, it's more of a local bar than a restaurant.
