This location is actually MUCH better than it's NYC counterpart. I believe it's a franchise now, though.
In any case, if it wasn't for the inconvenient (for me) location, I'd go there every week.

Pros: great food and wine and service

Cons: location...I live on the beach

we wanted to eat french and this place was known for long time. All comments were very differents. So we decide to see by ourselves. I went there with my wife on saturday. we had a great time. I had a filet of beef with fries and salad. My wife a duck with orange sauce. We have no regrets to tried this place. Price for Coral Gables, just perfect. The wine list is short but good wine pricewise. The decor is amazing like "Cabaret". The food is simple but very good. The service, not the best one, but friendly and so French. For a nice diner not "snobe", it's the right place to go. I will be back for sure.

Les Halles is French, but not high-falutin' French. It's the sort of place that is on the corner throughout Paris (except for the Left Bank where the corners all seem to be pizza shops). French basics are served simply and without pretention: steak frites, mussels, duck confit, roast chicken, cassoulet, charcoutre.

I think this place is always be open whether it is 3 in the afternoon or 11 at night, 7 days a week, seemingly always. It's sort of like a French diner, always there. Do not expect fancy glassware or fancy silverware or to be somehow blown away. Do expect basic honest food.

If you're not hungry, hang out at the bar. It's never packed and yet there is always something happening.

It's sort of a neighborhood place, but a Parisian neighborhood.

probably the worse restaurant in south florida. i had the steak and fritz and it was the worse piece i meat i have ever had and that includes eating military food for four years. the wait staff was a joke, the salad was from hunger. the only good thing about this place is the coral gables address.

Went on a friday night, seemed fine at first. Menu was limited and very overpriced. Service was slow, and not very friendly. After a long wait for the food, ny item came out wayyyy overcooked, as did others. Hockey puck burnt. Did not try the desert myself but everyone else that got something hated it. The check took longer than the food. Would not recommend, even if they slashed their prices in half.

I read the reviews before my sister made plans for her birthday party. I explained to her that this resturant wasn't rated very high. She said that she wanted french food. A group of us showed up to my sister's party. We were all starving... the service was sloooooowwwww! We ordered from the menu " steak and fries" because for seventeen dollars you think, I'm going to eat a juicy steak (WRONG)!!! The bathrooms are tiny , no one there is french, and the food is GROSS! When we finally had food in front of us we couldn't stop laughing. The food was hard as hell!!!! The french fries could be used as weapons. The dessert was yuck for six bucks. I think I will have nightmares about this place for the rest of my life.

I went there few times, the food was good but their couscous has nothing close to a REAL COUSCOUS from morroco, or north africa. it was very dry no juicy at all, ...
another time i tried the choucroute i love it, exactly like in alsace.
the steack with echalottes was OK.
Loved the appetizer, cheese platter , the service was friendly, i liked the music and ambience as well.
a little pricy for the food served though

But worth to try. i like the location

Had a horrible meal there in January, 2007. Our table of six received terrible service, the waiter was rude and hurried from the start . Then a leak from the ceiling above started pouring onto us. We realized that the men's bathroom was above and all stood up to ask for a new table. The servers seemed annoyed at our complaint about the leak which was a steady stream . At another table, we never received tableware, no water, it took an hour for our meals to arrive in staggered increments. Food was mediocre, seemed overcooked. No cream served with our coffee, no butter after repeated requests. Dessert tart mushy, chocolate mousse flat. Waited forever for the check. Received an apology and slight discount for enduring the overhead "leak" which stained the skirt of one of our guests. We will not be back!

This is another one of my favorite French restaurants in Miami, well Coral Gables to be exact...the moment you step in you feel as if you are in a Brasserie filled with hungry Parisians..
The food has been excellent each of the many times we've been there..Our favorites are the Lamb, the Mussels and usually whatever specials they make. The appitizers are heavenly as are the desserts... The service is terrific...Bon appitit

PROS: everything on the menu has been excellent
CONS: none

If you can get by the initial attitude the staff show, you will be fine. The steak and frites are superb, the wine is good and service is relatively fast.

We went to this restaurant because I had read Kitchen Confidential by the Tony Bourdan. I needed a French fix and Les Halles was the ticket. By far they served me has the finest mussels I have eaten. They a small, tender and succulent. The portion for an appetizer was large enough to share, but don't. I can still taste the bagette I used to soak up the sauce. Everything we had was suberb.

Mediocre and expensive. The food was below average, small portions and poor service. I guess they have developed an attitude.
