.

Great mission statement. Great core values. Rapidly growing sending organization, doing a good work. They are in the midst of a much needed transition to CPM which appears to be embraced by most field staff and practiced with increasing skill and flexibility. The Orlando campus is well maintained, but staff facilities are inadequate.

Richardson and Esler provide good top level leadership to Pioneers USA. VP level leadership is too much of a good old boys club. Most of the Orlando based staff seem locked into an 8-5, punch the clock mentality. The organization is slowly becoming more decentralized with U.S. based staff outside of Orlando.

Mobilization does a great job courting and recruiting millennials, not so good with older candidates. Good job with Edge and Venture, but no mid-term options are made available to candidates. Training is overworked (although not as much as in the past) and not doing a quality job keeping up with appointees. Member development lacks strong leadership. Communications is overworked and not contributing what they could be to the organization. Fundraising is inadequate for the needs of the organization and far too passive. Church partnerships lacks clarity of vision, is superficial in their work with churches, and is failing to add much value to the organization. Hospitality does a great job. EWI lacks godly leadership and momentum. HR is minimally engaged and adds little value to Pioneers. IT and finance are rigid, have difficulty seeing the forest for the trees, and often lack grace in their dealings with the rest of the organization.
