As a do-it-your-selfer kind of guy who orders most of his parts off of the internet whenever one of my appliances breaks down, I had not had the pleasure of dealing with the MAIN ST (not the Tower Rd) Martin's Family Appliance Center until today, when I desperately needed a part for a ten-year-old washing machine. I nearly finalized my order online with a nationwide retailer before I realized that the cost of shipping would cost me more than the part itself--not to mention that it would require nearly a week to reach me.
At the last moment, I remembered the Martin's Family Appliance Center TV commercials in which the brothers mention that they have a large supply of appliance parts in stock, in house, at their business, so I called them.
Not only did they have the part that I required, but Tommy Martin, after asking me where I lived so that he could provide me with directions to the Main St. store, told me that he would be nearby my part of town within a few hours, and that he could actually drop the part off to me at my door. WOW!! Talk about same-day, free shipping! If that is not good service, well...then I am not sure what is. Perhaps he could have brought me a pizza and a two-liter of Dr. Pepper ha ha ha.
But seriously, Martin's Family Appliance Center is a Gainesville business that I will loyally support from now on. And concerning any folks who wrote negative reviews, they are either confusing the Main St. Martin's location with the other, unrelated Tower Rd location. If that is not the case, then you must consider what compels folks to write reviews; typically, the most satisfied customers (like me) remain silent, while the few squeaky wheels make the most noise.

To quote owner Gary Martin, ??I DON??T CARE.? We purchased a refrigerator from Martin??s Family Appliances 2 months ago and saw it at Best Buy this weekend for about HALF THE PRICE! When we made the purchase, Mr. Martin was quick to welcome us to the Martin family. Today I went to the store (on 4th Blvd.) and showed Mr. Martin the Best Buy ad. His response: We NEVER PRICE MATCH OR MAKE AN ADJUSTMENT. I explained that it was the EXACT SAME MODEL, but he claimed that the manufacturer makes special refrigerators just for Martin??s Appliances which have a 10 year warranty on the motor. Riiiiiiiiight? I expressed my dissatisfaction with the treatment he was giving a new customer and asked if this is how he treats ??family.? He said ??I DON??T CARE.? Buyer beware!

Business Response:

Good Afternoon Ma'am, We are glad that you show interest in reviewing a business for the benefit of other customers. However, I would like to inform you that you wrote a review for the wrong business. Martin's Appliance Family, off of Tower Road by Home Depot, is owned by Gary Martin. This business, Martin's Family Appliance, is on 1809 North Main Street and has no business affiliation with the other. We are sorry for this confusion. Have a good day. Martin's Family Appliance Center, Inc.

This guy was a total jerk. He told me i needed these parts after calling his "technician" on the phone. I was very succinct in what my issue was. He wanted 40 bucks for 2 thermostats after he tells me i only need one but they don't sell them separate. . 8 bux online btw . . i take them home , immediately install, and of course it doesn't fix my problem. . i call him right up, he tells me i can't return them.. not 20 minutes after i've left his store. . he's trying to get me to bring in my dryer now .. paying gouged price .. then i tell him it wasn't very Christian, because he was throwing around all these "lords" and "god bless" and all that at the store . . and this MF hangs up on me.. do NOT go to this store. . they are wolves in lambs clothing

We have used Martin's since they started in Gainesville. We have found them to always be honest and giving great service. I already have my next appliances picked out there when my current ones expire.
They tell it to you how it is, but in a friendly way and are always looking for the best appliances at the best cost.

We would not recommend Martin's Appliance on Main Street. The guy named chris is arrogant and seems interested until you have a non-functioning appliance. Even if the appliance is under warranty, he will find a way to blame it on the consumer to avoid repairing it and charge the customer. We had the worst experience with them and would never recommend them to anyone.

We've used Martin's a few times to for various appliances. They are always prepared, honest, and not afraid to "tell it like it is". Their work has not failed yet, and they are always kind to my young son who is enthralled and curious and wants to watch what they are doing. Oh, and they had no problem taking off their boots when I asked! :-)

My call was answered by a man by the name of Tommy. I had a very unusual parts request. Metric hoses for a washer manufactured for the European market. It took him all of 15 seconds to locate the part ( I had been laughed at by several other parts places) and he gave me a very good deal. I am hard to impress but these guys are good. Please don't confuse these guys with the other Martin appliance store in the Home Depot plaza off of Newberry road. I had been reluctant to call at first because I thought they were owned by the same people and I had a very bad experience there and have not been back in over 6 years. It is hard to find someone who is honest and helpful so lets help keep these guys prosperous.

You can find anything you would find at a big store here. They offer all the big name brands and are competitively priced. They also have a scratch and dent area. They are known for their service. The staff is very helpful. They also do repairs. There are several locations around town. I visited the one on Tower Road. After going to Home Depot for a freezer I found the same one here and it was $20 cheaper. I got better service and I know I can count on them if something happens to it. Good appliance store.
