All the bad reviews have something in common....they're all women. They sit around all day and think of stuff to complain about. I've delt with Evan's MANY times over the years and have had nothing but good service and great prices every time. Scott is top notch, and a business doesn't stay in business as long as they have without being great at what they do.

Don't believe a word of the bad reviews here (probably the kind of women who are never satisfied with anything, from dining establishments to public parks). These guys are excellent.

My name is Scott Nall my father is Joe Nall the owner of Evan's Carpet City. We have been in business for 25 yrs in Defuniak Springs. We have done literally thousands of jobs, residential and commercial including county, state & federal contracts. We have built a reputation based on honesty and integrity. Don't believe everything you read. There are legimate sites where people are not allowed to slander for any reason and do so anonymously and unjustly. I value the Better Business Bureau that actually investigates all accusations against business owners. The BBB gives business owners a fair chance to reply before posting on line. We have a "A+" rating with the BBB and have references avaliable to vouch for our service and products. We hope that you would not be swayed by the negative post listed on this site. And if you should have any concerns feel free to come visit us in person or call us at 850-892-0839 .

If you give messurements for 4 rooms of carpet and give messurements for capet on the garden tub, don't you think that you would want the carpet installed on the garden tub also? Well aparently not! And when I called to at least make sure the carpet was included in the price I paid for just the carpet (not the installation) he kept telling me he didn't know anything about the garden tub. And then had the nerve to ask if he could speak to my husband, like a woman doesn't know what she is talking about. When I finally got him to understand I wanted to know about the carpet and not the installation, he said yes I did pay for the carpet for the garden tub but not the installation. So he messed up by not adding in the price for the installation of the garden tub carpet. Which by the way they subcontract the work out to install. Who would pay for carpet for a garden tub & not want it in the installation price? I am very disapointed!

Amen to Jessica S. The story is so much the same it is scary. Amanda was so knowledgeable and pleasant, she was the main reason I purchased from them. After they got my 50% deposit, which was thousands of dollars the nightmare began. Lost material, damaged material, my appliances had to be canceled twice, installer finally shows up with the material but no prep material or tools, then when he does come back to install it he installs is short of the agreed upon point and there are literally dozens of lumps from debris he left under it, cancel the appliances again, Then when he comes back and takes it up to clean out the debris and puts it back down it has an indentation and fold line. Oh don't worry about it they will disappear in a week or two, you can go ahead in 4 days and put your baseboards in. Of course since it is cut too short now Amanda says there is not enough carpet because of the way she calculated the room for only 24 feet not 24 feet 4.5 inches. It only got worse, then bubbles started forming. Scott was running the business when I first made my order, he and I were trying to work the vinyl issue out, he had the manufactures area representative out twice, because if they would replace the material because the indentation had never gone away, they would replace the full length of material, plus all the installation labor and removal of the appliances. Both of us would be happy. Then comes JOE back to take over the business while Amanda is out. Now keep in mind that this all began with my order date of 12/12/2007 on 4/26/2008 he comes into the house walks over to the indentation and starts ranting and raving about how I did all the damage I caused everything and he wasn't responsible for replacing anything. "But here's what I'll do for you, you move out all the appliances and I'll go ahead and take this piece up and I'll make you a good deal on the price of the vinyl." He expects me not only to pay for more material but to move appliances that I have already paid to have installed because they defectively installed the material. No thanks I'll pass on that great deal. What does he do? Files a small claims to get a judgment for full payment, and the same week the store submits a claim to the manufacturer for replacement of my defective floor. Jessica S. if you read this I would like to talk to you. I would not even give them a one star, but it will not submit left blank.

A pleasant experience when we were shopping for floors. They seemed knowledgeable. Amanda was very helpful and was the main reason we decided to go with Evan's. Then, once we had told them we had decided to get floors through them, it was a terrible experience. We were handed over to the owner Joe, who obviously knows nothing about customer service. He told me the cost of the floors was so high because they had to pay for the gas for people to drive out and do 'free' estimates. That's not really free then ,is it? Then once the installers came, they promised they'd be done by the end of the week. We even moved all of the furniture out ourselves (even though we were paying them to move it) to speed up the process. In the middle of the week, we noticed that their weren't enough floors...we mentioned it to the installer and he told us not to worrry, that he just wouldn't do closets. I told him that the estimate included closets and he would indeed be doing closets. It wasn't until Thursday of that week that he realized their weren't enough floors. We were then told that the rest of the floors would arrive next week and that only one bedroom would be left incomplete, but everything else would be done by Friday so we could move back in. Of course, Friday rolls around and after they had to replace our transition pieces twice, they left early without caulking any of the quarter round. So, we had to caulk everything ourselves so we could move our furniture back in. Then, once the floors arrived, he wanted to install them the next day. I found this odd since the floors needed to acclimate for 3 or 4 days last time. He said they would only need 24 hours. We askd him to come back in 3 days so that he wouldn't ever have to come back and replace them again. When we brough all of this to Joe's (the owner) attention, he acted as though it was our fault. That we didn't watch the job and that we shouldn't have let them leave without completing the job properly...hmm, why was I paying thousands of my hard earned dollars to him for? He then yelled at my husband and hung up on him. I think my favorite part was when he tried to blame the fact that their weren't enough floors on the distributor. I usualy check invoices when I order something to make sure I have recieved everything. You'd think someone who has been in business that long would do that same. I would acutally give them less that 1 star...I am that unhappy.
