Service & Repair

by Robert S.

It seems that new car warranties aren't worth the paper they are printed on and or the dealers like Gettel used them to sell their overprice service and parts. After many failed attempts to have certain repairs made being told they were normal to the car, it seems Gettel could make the repairs after the warranty had run out. We had to have them re-do oil changes three times after they used the wrong oil, clean the interior after one of their techs used the car to clean himself, in the last failed attempt to use their service to repair the engine missing problem, they quoted us over $1200 for a tune up, we have since had the car repaired for less then $200. Gettel may be a great place to purchase a car from, but when it comes to their service, I would caution you to get a second opinion

Fraud Letter

by Robert V.

After receiving a letter from the general manager of Gettel Toyota offering to pay me the full MSRP of my 2002 Toyota Sienna Van when it was purchased in 2002 for a new car that would be be more gas efficient in this economy, I jumped at the chance. I went Gettel Toyota figuring that my MSRP was around $21,000, and a new car would be around $25,000, so I would probably spend around $4,000 to $5,000 and have a newer more economical car. It took 2 sales associates to read the fine print in the letter saying they would deduct for all of the mileage. At 51,000 miles on my 2002 car they offered $3,000, far below the Kelly Blue Book for trades. The letter had many bold paragraphs, which did not relate to what the deal was. I was deceived, and walked out. I have bought 4 cars from them over the years but will never darken the showroom again. I intend to send a copy of the letter to the FTC.

The service was prompt and courteous. The price was reasonable. They promised and fulfilled the work and the price. It was a great dealership to work with.

Stay Away if You Value Service and Your Privacy

by Dominic S.

I signed the purchase/financing papers for a used car three weeks ago. Despite repeated phone calls to the salesman and the finance department, I have yet to be informed if the financing has been arranged and that the car I drove off the lot that evening is mine. Twelve messages totally ignored. The paycheck stub that I faxed the day following the purchase failed to reach the person for whom it was intended despite his name and the deal number being on the cover sheet; I have confirmation that the fax was received. So, my paycheck stub bearing my social security number and both my checking and savings account numbers along with my address and, obviously, my annual income is just floating around a used car lot somewhere. Additionally, while speaking with the salesman he sneeringly informed me of the full name and poor credit score of a previous customer (and her father). If you value customer service and discretion then I would strongly recommend avoiding Gettel Automotive. I will certainly never do business with them again.

Snobby Car Salesman

by Bree J. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 945

We went in here for a test drive of a Kia, and having to park next to the Toyota building didn't realize that we were going into the wrong building. We asked the first person we saw if we could be directed to the rest room, and his response was here you go when your done we will sign you up, seeing a radio station on the grounds we figured they were talking about some kind of contest or something. We went over and sat down, and asked what we were signing up for, he said oh this is just to get you financed quicker, we told them we weren't there to buy, but they insisted on taking our information down. When we were down all the paperwork, we asked to please test drive a Kia, and we were told that we were in the wrong building and he proceeded to tear up all the paperwork and complain about us wasting his time. We went over to the next building the Kia dealership and were greeted on the lot by a very nice gentelman, that didn't insist we do any paperwork, and let us look around and test drive some nice vehicles without any pressure at all. I would say that the Toyota dealership should be taking some lessons from the Kia dealership right next door.
