I was new to the area, but Inwood Park seemed to be a decent place to live. After a couple months of living there, I heard 5 gunshots. After a whole night of police running around with bullet-proof vests, the SWAT team sitting behind trees and being confined to my apartment, i found out that an ex war veteran shot a woman police officer three times in the chest. I could see his apartment and the whole scene from my living room window. It got worse from here.. the toilet was always overflowing, there were cockroaches, I couldn't go out on my balcony because there were 4 continuous wasp nests. I had a growing fear of living here. After 6 months, my gate key didn't work and I was unable to get another one (they wanted to charge me another fee). I left for vacation for 4 days and when I came back, I could not get into my apartment.. as if someone had changed the lock without my permission or any notification. I notified the management right away (on a saturday) and they said, either wait until monday or call a locksmith..what??!! Monday I returned, ask for help and the leasing specialist said that its very possible that someone climbed onto my balcony, broke in, stole some of my belongings, and changed the lock...what??!!! She said, "yes, it's true, i've known it to happen.. well, not here, but other places. They get in through the sliding glass door". How was I supposed to feel safe after these incidents?? Unfortunately, I was locked into the lease and could not leave.. but I DO NOT advise anyone to live here. Not only that.. it is WAY over-priced. For $800.00 a month, you can find something much better in another part of Tampa.

Staff are incompetent & rude. Nothing works & they are slow to respond & don't care once you've signed the lease. Thin walls - can hear neighbors. Planes/traffic noise is loud.
For the price they want - go somewhere else. What you would pay in rent here is not worth it at all...

I completely agree with the previous comments about this place...Even though what I have to say is pretty much the same , I'm going to still go ahead and write this.Hopefully you read this before signing the lease, if you go ahead and sign it anyway after reading this review then YOU ARE NOT ALL THERE?!
1-They charge you $25 for the gate pass. This gate has never worked! This is not the safest part of Tampa and believe me you get reminded EVERYDAY! You get woken up by cop car/fire truck or ambulance sirens oh and the train!
2-If you want to use the gym after 5pm you have to pay $40 for a gym pass?! Anywhere else this would be a standard amenity without a charge, BUT NOT AT INWOOD PARK?! Real kicker is the fact that NOTHING AND I MEAN NOTHING EVER WORKED IN THE GYM! Can you believe that?? If I knew that the lock on the door didn't work I would've never paid for the pass! Only after I paid $40 I realized that the door is always OPEN so random people, teenagers who want to make out! and homeless people end up here, resulting constantly broken gym equipment, broken doors and broken TV! Oh let me correct that, there's not even a TV anymore because IT'S RIPPED OFF THE WALL! I mean it's already a safety issue on top of that I had to pay $40 for something that I can't even use!
3-Staff is extremely incompetent! You have to go to the office like 10 times in order to get something fixed! When I say "staff" I mean anyone from a leasing agent to maintenance crew oh and the property manager. When you report a problem to let's say a leasing agent, she talks negatively about the property manager, when you talk to the prop. manager or the assistant he/she talks crap about the corporate??! Extremely unprofessional!
4-You would think that your water bill would be much less than regular, if you didn't stay in your apartment for the whole month (vacation, business trip vs.) well you are mistaken! It doesn't matter if you used it or not you get billed as much as your next door neighbor who has 4 kids, because here you don't pay for what you use, you pay an approximate average for the whole building.
5-Area where the trash compactor is; extremely disgusting! I'm talking about RATS all around it!! A while back Assistant property manager said "I can tell you that you are very lucky because you don't live close to this area, the other day I was showing an unit and the guy told me that he won't sign the lease if he has to take one of the units that are close to the compactor" LIKE I HAVE TO FEEL AS IF I'M SUPER LUCKY THAT THE BACK OF THE COMPLEX I LIVE IN IS DANGEROUSLY DIRTY!
6- There are tons of mosquitoes, you may think that this is pretty normal because it??s FL well I don??t think that??s the case, I lived in different parts of Tampa and never seen this much of a problem with flies and mosquitoes! There are ponds within the complex, all of them are dirty, and every time I take a walk I look at the same spot and without a hitch the same trash always there! Beer bottles, white plastic shopping bags, shoes vs. nobody even makes any attempt to clean or at least pick up the trash! I strongly believe that because of the unsanitary conditions of these ponds there are tones of mosquitoes around! You would think that as long as there are screens on your windows, you should be fine! WRONG! BECAUSE ALL YOU HAVE TORN APART SCREENS ON YOUR WINDOWS! AND WHEN YOU ASK THE MAINTNANCE TO SEE IF YOU CAN GET NEW ONES THE ANSWER IS ALWAYS THE SAME ??OH THEY ARE BACK ORDERED?!!!
You can get in to a better place with the same amount you pay for rent here so do your research, read the reviews of the property you are thinking about moving in, I wish I had seen all the negative comments about this place before I signed the lease! Oh well I hope someone would read this review and won't make the same mistake that I did!

I don't get it... do you all have supersonic hearing? Are you really sensitive to loud noises? Were you traumatized by the rumbling of trains at a young age?
Seriously, unless you live in the very front of the complex or possibly on the side where the train tracks run, you can't hear a thing. I've been living at Inwood for over a year and I've never heard the train from my apartment. And as for the planes... really guys? Really? So you hear two seconds of a plane overhead... really?
I'll admit that the top apartments get a little warm, especially the loft, but that's to be expected. The dishwasher in my place is a little old and some stains came up in the carpets after a few days of living there, but that's about the gist of my complaints. Maintenance has never taken more than a day to fix a small problem and no more than an hour for more urgent issues.
The only other thing to consider is the area. Personally, I like it because it's close to HCC, International, the Veterans, Citrus park mall, etc. But some of Waters Ave is a little run down and yes... ghetto. But there aren't any gangs hanging around the complex and I've never heard of any burglaries.
I don't know... maybe I just got lucky, or maybe it's good karma. Either way, I still recommend Inwood Park Apartments.

Pros: Nice staff, clean pools, nice layouts and landscaping

Cons: Carpets are a little dirty, dishwasher kind of old

Don't sign a lease. This place is a total dump! I totally forgot about the gate never working... yet they charge you $25 for a card.

They will present you with this wonderful picture perfect place, and then once you sign the lease... you're taken to the realy Inwood Park Apt.
