The women who run this shop are interested in one thing and that is selling their expensive merchandise. I had been in the shop several times and bought fabric and notions from their extensive selection. When my sewing machine was having issues, I called to have the women who run the shop recommend a place to take it to be repaired. They told me to bring it in and they could service it and try to fix the problem. When I came in and tried to explain the problem, the owner in particular was extremely rude to me, informed me there was nothing wrong with my machine, belittled my sewing skills, and told me what did I expect if I sewed on a machine like mine. Though my machine is not high end, it has served me well and I have sewed on it for many years happily. I know my machine and I know when it is having a problem. It turned out to be the bobbin case needed to be tightened which I was uncomfortable doing myself- though not any more!

I also wanted to have advice on a quilt I was working on and having trouble with. They told me I could come to a class and pay $10. When I arrived at the class, the instructor wouldn't even look at the quilt. She said all she could tell me to do was rip it out. I also picked up my machine which had been serviced, and though I could tell it had been oiled, it certainly had not been cleaned and was full of lint.

Little did the owner know that I was soon to be in the market to buy a higher end machine and was considering a Janome or Bernina model. I would never buy it from them due to their elitist attitude and disrespect toward me. I also had been looking forward to buying more fabric and notions from their shop, but I will wait until I can visit another shop. They will not have my business again.

I recently took my sewing machine to Crafty Quilters for repair. It had been years since I'd been in Crafty Quilters, which is a cute, cozy little shop housed in a cottage. Not only do they repair all makes of sewing machines, they are also authorized dealers for New Home and Janome machines. They also sell notions and fabrics and hold quilting classes. Definitely worth a browse!
