I have visited this church several times when I have vacationed in the Clearwater area. It used to be such a wonderful church. The people were very friendly, there was a very talented young man that played the organ, and the priest was one of the most wonderful people I had ever met. I greatly looked forward to attending Good Samaritan. However, this year when I came down to visit, the atmosphere of the church was very different. When I sat down, I overheard a couple of ladies in front of me discussing the "horrible new priest they had." People in the church generally seemed to be unhappy. I noticed that there was now an elderly gentleman playing the organ, and while I suppose he was trying, was having major difficultly finding the right notes. There were two priest (both elderly) who seemed to stumble through the liturgy. The quality of the worship service was no where close to where it had previously been. Following the service, one parishioner did speak to me and wanted to introduce me to "Father Ron." When she tried to introduce me, he barely acknowledged me, chastised the women for interrupting him, and turned back around and continued speaking to the other priest. Needless to say, I felt highly offended. I have never seen a clergy behave so poorly. I am sorry to say that the next time I visit Clearwater, I will not be visiting Good Samaritan.

Visiting Good Samaritan was a very unpleasent experience. The congregation seems to be very cold and uninviting. I have never walked into a church and felt such tension and negitivity. The priest is absolutely the rudest person I have ever met - he completely ignored me when I tried to speak to him following the service. He also seemed very unprepared and consistantly gave out the wrong page numbers and did not following the order of service at all. I would never attend this church again.

My family recently found this church. Members recognized that we were new and greeted us warmly. Pastor is a friendly and dedicated priest. Sunday offers two services: early (which we call express) which is traditional and mid-morning with choir and kids. Active ministry. Not stuffy. Activities exist for all ages.
