When ya know some people and you have a business account, you can get a lot of cool stuff in life. And for that, I am thankful.

Case in point, I am not exactly in the appropriate tax bracket to be chillin' at the Ritz. But, through a family friend, I was able to sneak in a night's stay for a business trip at this fabulous fairy tale establishment.

Upon arrival, they pour it on. No matter who you are, it seems the staff at the Ritz treats you like royalty. The front desk was so eternally apologetic about my room not being ready when I arrived, that they upgraded me to a superior suite. W.H.A.T?!

Upon finally getting to my room, there was soft jazz playing on the room's sound system. On the table next to a plush armchair, a bottle of champagne was on ice and a bowl of giant chocolate-covered strawberries awaited me. A note, from my family friend, sat next to this set up, welcoming me back to Naples and wishing me a wonderful stay.

From out of the two giant windows that reached up to the ceiling, you could sit on the window seat and enjoy the 15th floor, dead-center view of Naples.

In the morning, a call from room service asked me what I wanted for breakfast and shortly thereafter, a cart with a breakfast fir for a small horse arrived, compete with coffee, juice, pancakes, fruit, eggs, bacon and sausage.

The bathroom was completely marble, the minibar was stocked with Johnny Walker Blue and the bed...oh that bed. Like a giant, fluffy cloud with just the right amount of firmness, the sheets were probably had a thread count close to a million and there were so many pillow I hardly knew what to do with them! (imagine the scene in Pretty Woman when Julia Roberts runs into the bedroom of the the penthouse and jumps, kind of trips and leaps into the bed...yep, that was me...save for the whole hooker thing.)

Now I am sure the question comes to mind, had I not been there on the account of a family friend...would I have been given such exquisite treatment? Who knows. I am sure they regularly upgrade people when things go wrong. And the only extras I am sure I was privy to above regular guests were the champagne and strawberries, and frankly, my stay was so wonderful, I would not have noticed their absence.

If you've got the green, I'd highly recommend a stay at the Ritz. You get what you pay for and the Ritz delivers on every single penny spent. For me, I got way more than I paid for, but that's neither here nor there! An absolute treat!

The place is no doubt one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. But in reality the price and the rooms are a bit off. I guess the huge premium comes form the fact it's in Naples and on the beach. That being said, I have stayed at hotels with better rooms and more comfortable beds.

This is one of the best hotels in the country and the spa has been rated number 1 in the country. The rooms are nice, but not as grand as you would hope for the price. But the rest of the hotel makes up for that. The spa is a must do.

What can I say - I think I spent the happiest 3 days of my life here. I have never been so impressed with the customer service in any kind of establishment. They go out of their way without making you feel crowded or being fake. You know that they honestly care about you having a nice stay, they aren't just saying things someone told them to say. There is a fabulous pastry chef at this property. The food was very impressive in general, but the desserts are really to die for.

Delightful service, follow by the highest levels of cleanlines. Excellent location that brings out one of the most remarkable golf courses in the city.
