Ok, this place is ecentric to say the least. Very worth the visit, because I personally have never been to anything like it. Our wait was very long and we got there early like 5:00ish. It probably was an hour an a half wait. Most of the seating is outdoors, which is cool, but what's not cool is all the cats running around. They're all over. In fact they were underfoot while we were eating! \r\nI was getting a little freaked out by the experience, thinking that the cleanliness factor just wasn't up to my standards. However, after the food came out I suddenly forgot about the cats! I got the jerk chicken and it was so good and the cornbread was the best I've had. All of us at the table had zero complaints. So if you can handle the cats...go and enjoy a wonderful meal!

Had the best Lobster Eggs Benedict with lime hollandaise - unbelievable food - live jazz in the morning - awesome! Went back at night & had a great time. Outdoor bar was the coolest place in Key West.

you have to go at non-peak hours. we went early for breakfast and were seated inside right away. AND served right away. We had the lobster omlet and it was so good I practically inhaled it! the mimosa was perfect as was the service! When I read the reviews about the chickens and cats running around I didnt want to go but heard from the locals how good it was we went anyway. The cats and chickens are in the outside eating area not the inside AND we only saw 2 cats. We came outside after eating and it was starting to get busy and they were serving coffee to those waiting AND had heaters going! Go here! you wont regret it! My mouth is STILL watering for that food!

Gourmet but unpretentious food. All food is made from fresh local produce. Cats sleep under the menu table and chickens running around. The coffee is fabulous and the mimosa are to die for.A definite stop for any visit to Key West.

My husband and I had a really good lunch recently, when we visited Key West, at Blue Heaven. It took us a while to find it, but it was worth it. My lobster sandwich and key lime pie were great. We didn't even mind the chickens. They kind of added to the character of the place. I recommend it.

My husband and I are on honeymoon in Key West and had our first breakfast here. This place is soooo cool. The food was excellent and our waitress was very responsive and nice. The atmosphere is out of this world. I love the openess and flora. I would recommend this as a must see spot for anyone going to Key West.

This place has the most excellent breakfast foods. The banana bread is to die for! Great people here, service was wonderful. You'll love the cats and the chickens running around. Moderately priced, but well worth it. The food is classic island fusion cuisine that is prepared by someone's very soulful grandmother. Very diverse menu selections.

If you enjoy being insulted by an obnoxious, old sea hag of a hostess whose face looks like a wrinkled old catcher's mitt while waiting an hour for a seat, then this is your place. If not, then DO NOT GO THERE!!!! Because I know I never will again. So much for Key West charm. I guess when a place becomes a well-known tourist attraction, courtesy and customer service take a back seat. I will be sure to tell everyone back home to boycott this place on principle. There are plenty of other great restaurants on the island where you don't have to put up with a bitter old woman who hates her job while you are on vacation. If I were a manager at Denny's, I wouldn't even consider hiring her to wash dishes.

If you go to the keys make time to visit this restaurant. It is pricey but worth it. Do try to go when the rushes are over. My husband, my eight year old son and I went for brunch on a friday and were seated right away. This place was awesome. made me feel like i was in the tropics, my son loved the chickens and cats, i loved the whole place!

Stopped at many places in the keys to try as many key lime pies as possible and this place's pie was THE BEST!!!!!!! We went at lunch time (just after 1pm) and didn't have to wait for a table. Servers don't dote on you, so if thats the service you need then don't stop here. All dishes ordered at our table were outstanding ... the lobster was awesome as were the grilled cheese sandwiches and the JamaicanJerk chicken cesear. The bread there is to die for. If you do stop here, go when its not peak dining hours and definitely try their key lime pie.

At the recommendation of our innkeeper at the Seascape Inn we walked to Blue Heaven for dinner. It was the middle of Goombay, and I feared that we'd never get in, but we had a table in 15 minutes. \r\n\r\nThe service was great, the food outstanding, and the portions were HUGE! I'm no small guy, and I couldn't finish the BBQ Shrimp/Brown Rice/Black Beans, but it wasn't for lack of trying! My wife and I shared a boston bibb/gorgonzola salad (the server recommended we split it - we were going to each have one, and she was right), then out came our entrees - the BBq Shrimp and terrific pork tenderloin over delicious sweet potatoes.\r\n\r\nI was disappointed with the rum-in-the-coconut drink we got from the streetside bar before we were seated... It's just a coconut, they cut a hole, pour out some of the milk, and poor in some Captain Morgans.. Not enough rum, not much flavor. \r\n\r\nThe desserts looked great, but we were too full to try...\r\n

Theres a quaint and special place to eat in Key West that locals and visitors alike just seem to rave about. I would guess its probably the most popular restaurant on the island if for no other reason then the shear numbers of people who inquire about it. Where else? Blue Heaven.

Ive heard it called My Blue Heaven, Heavenly Blue, the place with the roosters and cats and numerous other configurations, but everyone seems to know about it.

Is its popularity based on anything concrete, or is it just a faade? You will definitely find your surroundings on the interesting side with meals served at tables outdoors on a dirt floor, plenty of chickens and roosters are roaming the property, cats sleeping on fences, chairs, rooftops and on the bar and a parachute slung over the trees acting as a sun blocker. You could well be in the Key West of the 1920s if left to your imagination. The description of the environment alone could stand as the soul lure that draws in the clientele, but then you get the menu.

Im meant to understand that people vie for the opportunity to serve tables at Blue Heaven, but you better be good. The wait staff will have everyones name at the table before all the orders are made and I dont believe Ive seen many of them carry paper and pen. Theyre extremely friendly and they know their food and can direct you to items that will be just what is right for you. Its uncanny really.

Back to the menu It surprises you when you see the previously mentioned ambiance and then you look at your entre choices. This is no bar and grill. You can select anything from surf and turf to yellowtail snapper to steak. They do some unique sauces that highlight the main dish not overwhelm it. Ive never been disappointed at Blue Heaven.

Many of the popular places have very kitch gift shops attached to them, but youll find the small store on the Blue Heaven property a worthwhile stop on your way out. The restaurant is located in a residential neighborho

I went here one morning and had a breakfast tortilla. I wasnt expecting anything amazing, but its one of the few breakfast places open at 8 AM. I was pleasantly suprised, it was the best meal I've ever had in my life, literally. A group I went with after recovering from a night of boozing went a few hours after I did and they said the same thing as I did. Fantastic!

We have eaten at many 5 and 4 star resturants and the food there equaled and surpassed. We ate at the Blue Heaven more than once during our stay....

We visited Key West with 4 other couples and have a tendancy to go seperate ways for breakfast. We went to Blue Heaven they went for ""tradition fare"" eggs and bacon. The wait was well worth it! Mimosas tied us over. The Lobster Benedict was superb - so good that we raved to our friends and they agreed to come with us the next day. We walked over and they complained about how far it was, but after brunch said it was well worth it. The chickens, the outdoor atmosphere and the homemade bloody marys are only a small part of the entire experience. We had the seafood omlet (YUM!). lobster benedict, pancakes and other omlettes. The coffee was so smooth and flavorful, I'm now hooked on Baby's and order it on a regular basis for home and work. We will definitely return every time we visit Key West!

I live in Key West and I have to say that Blue Heaven is one of my favorite places to take visitors. Only never during meal rushes...they tend to have young staff who are usually working their 3rd job. The food is always great...we love the swing and the fun things to do around the restaruant. The chickens are little uncomforting at first, but you grow to like them. There is nowhere else like it...don't miss it!

went there 2 years and maybe it deserved the rating then but we had a poor experience there.\n the service was xcruciatingly slow. two hours to bring grilled cheese and pasta for the kids. you can imagine how that makes the kids react. the waiter just disappeared for prolonged periods. no help. no checking up. we wanted to quickly eat and leave to no avail. and so did the many customers waiting for our table. and the waiter to top it off asked us if we could move along for other customers. \n\nthey don't take resevations so if you decide to eat there and get out of your $15 cab ride, you may have to wait a very long time. there are lots of great restaurants in key west. this one happens to get the press so people line up like cattle for it. \nsee my review of cafe sole
