Both of our children attended St.Mark's from preschool through 8th grade. Both received an excellent education and went on the graduate at the top of their class in high school. St. Mark's provides a safe, nurturing environment and highly qualified teachers. The facilities may not be the most modern, but the quality of the Christ-centered education makes up for it. There is a well-rounded curriculum and plenty of opportunity to be involved in your child's education. The play ground is the best in town - lot's of shade and the campus is very safe. You won't find a better school in all of Broward County. St. Mark's is a second family to our family and we highly recommend it.
Both of my daughters attended St. Mark's from the age of 3 through 8th grade. They were both well prepared, academically, emotionally, physically, and spiritually, for their continuing years of education. I wish my children could have attended through High School. The teachers and staff are well-qualified and experienced. When necessary my children received the same kind of loving discipline they experience at home. There are numerous opportunities for parental involvement in the PTO for those parents interested in being involved in their child's school experience. Music, art and PE are all provided during the school week. Extracurricular activities are available in the areas of music and sports. I cannot recommend this school enough to those desiring a strong academic program in a safe, disciplined environment.
My children have been attending this school for the last two years and I couldn't be more happy. The Principal is a very kind and caring man. He has time to speak with the parents and is always around and available. The office staff is very accomodating and nice as well. The teachers are wonderful!
My children have learned alot and I highly recommend this school!
I am a graduate of St. Mark's Lutheran School, having attended from age 4 through 8th grade. The education I received at St. Mark's was absolutely outstanding, the faculty competent and caring, and the curriculum challenging and Christ-centered. St. Mark??s educates the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. From core subjects like reading, science, and mathematics to the oft-neglected fields of music, literature, art, and religion, St. Mark??s enabled me to excel far beyond the standards set for children my age. I vividly remember learning about the cultures of England, Mexico, Japan, and the Native Americans all the way back in Mrs. Lee??s kindergarten class, as well as our in-depth study of Shakespeare??s ??Macbeth? in Mr. Kiesel??s eighth grade literature class. Mere months after I graduated from St. Mark??s and entered into ninth grade, standardized testing put me at a post-high school reading level. I have since gone on to graduate magna cum laude from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Materials Science and Engineering and am now in the top 10% of my graduate school class. I have and always will accredit my academic success to the discipline, life skills, and positive attitude instilled in me from the very first day I set foot in St. Mark??s Lutheran School.
We have 2 children who graduated from St. Mark's and both were head and shoulders above their classmates in public school. The teachers at St. Mark's are nurturing, caring and strive to educate & equip the whole child to be well-rounded and grounded in Christian values in all aspects of their lives. The facilities may not be the most modern, but cleanliness is a priority. The playground is the best anywhere and the faculty is highly qualified. I don't think you'll find a better education for the price anywhere. St. Mark's is like a family to us. We highly recommend it to anyone seeking a Christ centered school & excellent education for their children. You won't be disappointed!
The school used to have good old religious values, great administration and wonderful teachers. As soon as the new Pastor became in charge it became all about money and profits. If you are looking for a nurturing, safe, fair environment, this school is not for your kids.
Pros: Lots of parking, convenient location, some good teachers
Cons: Dated facility, poor safety standards, low religious values
