I decided to take advantage of my afternoon working in Miami, and hit this place up before heading back to the north. My little detour was well worth it! The reviews are true!!

Oh, this place is heavenly.. It looks like your regular bakery/cafe, but don't let that fool you.. The food is awesome. I got their ham+leeks+? quiche. Soo good! The crust is made out of flakey, buttery dough; I was pretty full after this, but couldn't leave without taking something back home to last me a while longer (or atleast until tomorrow morning!).. I got their Turkey hot pressed sandwich (toast in oven at 375degrees for 10mins.. you'll DIE!!) and a Banana Cupcake.

Another bonus, besides the awesome baked goods, is the outside seating LOVE THAT on a Tuesday afternoon!

I can't wait to go back.. it'll definitely be a destination, rather than a detour next time!

They are known for their chocolate mousse and for their lemon desserts, but I've found nearly everything there to be amazing. It's great to just sit and enjoy the pastries and watch people. Prices are a little more but they are well worth it.

This cafe is cute and delicious. Despite the line, it's worth the wait for a beautiful latte and a morning pastry. Bread pudding is also amazing and inexpensive. The deserts here are a star. Also the outdoor sidewalk tables are great for sitting alfresco with friends and sip champagne and cheese in the afternoon.

Not being native to Miami, I can't vouch for this being the best bakery in the city, but it's definitely the best I?ve visited.
The French Bakery has one of the best coffees in town. Great, croissants and beautiful and delicious pastries and tarts. Incredible sandwiches and salads at great prices, and excellent soups that changes daily, (To me soup is the true measure of a great chef). I also found the staff to be very friendly.
GREAT PLACE!

This fun neighborhood place is one of the "jewels" of Miami.
Everything is fresh, scrumptious & addicting!! The only downside is they are closed on Sundays. :)

I took a lemon meringue cake from The French Bakery to a farewell party yesterday, and every single person loved it...it looked amazing; creatively done, which was why I picked it up immediately. And it was rich, and delicious to taste...Finally, a great bakery in Miami!

Every bit as good as the bakeries in France. Don't worry about the line, it moves quickly. You must try one of the morning pastries, but everything we tasted here was excellent.
Everything I had was great. I am especially addicted to the morning muffins, which feature lemon zest so your breath exudes the essence of citrus when you are done eating. I met a man who is in the neighborhood who is addicted to their lemon tartlets.
Absolutely love them. God has come down and personally touched the creators of the goods served here. I cannot say what my favorite is but you gotta try a mocha capuccino with whatever goodies you get.
It's simply the best. I go there every day and get a fresh croissant. Try it! You can't go wrong.

The French Bakery is an anomaly in Miami in that the restaurant is consistently great. There's nothing on the menu I wouldn't recommend, the wine list is inventive and extensive, the cheeses are of a variety and quality you don't find outside of France, and the food is fresh, fresh, fresh. Fun place to people watch, and you can sit outside and enjoy the fresh air of Bay Harbor Islands, too. This place is a gem. Make sure to check out the daily specials, the salami manchego wrap is out of this world.

IN THE BEGINING WAS AN EXCELLENT TRADITIONAL FRENCH BAKERY.
Now is another latino coffee place were is hard to place an order in English, the bread is hard and the owner is never there and if he is HE IS ALWAYS IN A NASTY MODE. Better go accros the street for less
attitude.

All the baked goods are not only beautiful, but delicious too. The cakes and breads are better than any place else. Try some of the delicious sandwiches. Everything is so fresh, you won't believe it. It's a friendly place with great selections and prices. You can even order enough for a picnic on the beach. Don't forget to bring some pastries home for later. Delicious.

For years I lived in Paris and no where have I found a croissant that is even close to tasting like a real French one. Here, it tastes like its from my corner Parisian bakery.
Everything is tastefully prepared, the hot pressed sandwiches are amazing, cakes, cookies and great pastries.
A very nice wine selection with trophy wines and champagne drinks; great espresso. This place also has the best bread south of NYC. It is an unusual place in Miami that a lot of people go out of their way to find.

There's something sinfully delicious about sitting at a sidewalk table in the middle of a weekday eating a pastry. In addition to affording those who like me don't work normal hours the ability to eat alfresco, The French Bakery also happens to have simple, delectable lunch fare.

The food is prepared simply, and is brought briskly to your table. The staffs is cheery, and very knowledgeable about what goes into their food, but don?t expect them to pay much attention to you beyond what you need to order and sit down. Its a busy place.

The real reason to visit The Bakery is not their lunches, however delicious they are, but their pastries, made so perfectly and with incredibly high quality ingredients. They are known for their chocolate mousse and for their lemon desserts, but I've found nearly everything there to be amazing: dark chocolate eclairs; apricot tarts; chocolate croissants; and bread puddings.

The wine list is small, well chosen, and for the most part inexpensive; designed to really complement the food.

This bakery is a place that you should go for a lunch date with someone special, it is also a place you should go to take care of your soul on a lazy morning, no matter whether its Monday or Saturday. Grab the paper, pull on some shorts, and go get yourself a slice of Paris.

PROS: food ambaince pastries bread
CONS: parking

This is such a pretty little bakery, it lightens my mood just stepping inside. Stop in for a cup of coffee and a rich, buttery, flaky croissant and you'll not be disappointed. Pretty, perfectly cut and arranged cookies and pastries stand out in the display case. Beautifully decorated cakes are also on display around the bakery, tempting you to find an excuse to have a party so you can take one home.
To treat yourself to a gourmet lunch, take home a perfect cake, have delicious homemade icecream on a hot day, marvel at the beautiful display of goodies--from cookies to breads, from tarts of various flavors to numerous gift items, there is no better place to visit than The French Bakery and Cafe. It offers a touch of class with its decor. The display cases are well-lit and attractively designed. Scrumptious, not to be missed!!! We've returned many times and will continue to do so!!!

This is my favorite place to bring people when they come to visit Miami. It not only is an incredible bakery (my favorite is the banana tart, or the ham and cheese croissant, or the spectacular brioche bread pudding) with superb coffee, but it also has the most attractive clientele and the best people watching outside too!

We had a wonderful lunch here: pasta, salad, soup, sandwich. All were delicious. Their breads and desserts are outstanding and most of their vegetables for salads are organic. For dessert Ive got to sample the creme brulee and apple tart and both were smashing!
A top notch meal in a lovely restaurant.

I found this bakery by chance. We went to a wedding. The cake was beautiful. To our suprise, it was also delicious. It was from The French Bakery.

We visited the Bakery, it was a site to behold!! The cakes are a pleasure to the eyes and the taste buds. When we have ordered special cakes, the chefs make each one more amazing than the last. My favorite is the apricot tart. My husband is partial to the chocolate mousse. Or, maybe we like the individual desserts the best, it's hard to choose.

If you haven't tried this bakery, you are missing out. It is the best we have found. My husband is a pretty picky man. At The French Bakery he never fails to find something he loves.

Divine, delectable, delicious!! This little heaven on earth holds so many tantalizing treats; you won't know which to choose. In the event that this dilemma occurs, do what I do friends --- get 2 or 3.
The chocolate eclair I ate here made me swoon. As good as anything I've ever eaten in Paris and maybe better. The bread is excellent too, try the tomato and Brie baguette sandwich, the chocolate mousse and the macaroons.
My tastebuds worship this place

buy the bread, don't stay for dinner. after being ignored by my waiter, who was chatting three feet from me at the next table, i finally opted for one of the cheaper entrees, roasted chicken breast in a mustard sauce ($15.95). the chicken arrived and it was the tiniest chicken breast i have ever seen drowning in a moat of sauce and flanked by a small mound of burned, cold roasted potatoes. the chicken itself was delicious but the price tag was frightening for what was offered. i received an additional shock when my bill came... the pinot grigio i had ordered was a whopping $10/glass. you expect to pay these prices for top quality and service in fine dining establishment. sitting outside at a plastic table on the sidewalk or inside next to the bakery counter..well, i can't imagine any reason why i'd go back.
