We moved from South Florida and were recommend to this vet by a friend, and really like it. I disagree with the reviewer who said it was dirty...it's a vet's office, I think they are all a bit dirty due to animals coming in and out all day. As far as price, compared to what we were paying in Boca Raton, this is a good and fair price. My mother in law is a vet tech in Michigan and their prices are even more expensive up there than at Winter Garden AH. Everyone at the office is really friendly and truly cares about the animals there!

While reading all the other reviews I agree with most but the issue with a walk in fee. I agree with the fee. If it's an emergency for you, you would go to the ER and pay a higher co-pay than you would at a regular doctor's office. Same applies here. They now have to make room in their already heavy client load for that day because of your pet's emergency. $15.00 is a small price to pay for the immediate service WGAH always provides. Another thing this hospital does is Price Matching. If your pet takes a medication that you can find elsewhere in a catalog (ie: Drs Foster and Smith/KVVet/PetMeds.com), they will price match that item so that you don't need to order and wait for that item to get to you or pay shipping costs. I think that is a great benefit to me! Regarding the cleanliness, yes, the place is old, but I have NEVER seen it dirty. The floors are always shining and it never smells like a kennel (where some animal hospitals do). I have 3 German Shepherd dogs (2 older ones and an 11 week old puppy) who have been going to WGAH for the past 4 years (well the 2 older ones do :) ) we lived in FL and I think the staff and doctors are way above the rest. They will bend over backwards to accommodate their clients in any way they can. I will be a customer for life.

We love the fact that the staff really cares about out pets. We have them there regularly for preventative care. We think their prices are pretty average for the area. However, the place is old and has looked filthy at every visit. I would only recommend to those who I knew weren't OCD about cleanliness.

I have really enjoyed bringing my dog here. He has had several things wrong with him from skin and ear infections to hair loss and weight fluctuation. Although these problems cost quite a bit of money to fix, as they would at any Vet's office, my dog is worth it and they always seem to find the problem. I use the same vet every time and she knows my dog and he likes her a lot. The staff are always nice to me and my dog and I have never had a problem being seen right away for my appointment. Minus the costs, my experiences there have always been pleasant and my dog's hair is growing back and his ear infections are disappearing. Great people at that clinic. (And to be honest, probably less expensive then most other vets. I've been to a lot and this place has really topped them all) - *Satisfied golden retriever owner*

I have 8 dogs and have been a customer for over 5 years Dr Miller the owner is very knowledgeable and honest. He cares about the pets and offers great advice about your options. I have never been unhappy with the care his office has given, right down to the receptionist. When I had to have a surgery for one of my girls, Dr Miller was awesome in giving me all the details and expert advice.
Dr. Prather is an angel with a puppy dog tail. She is above excellent in all areas of health and crisis. Her bedside manner is warm, loving and sincere, she is worth every penny or extra charge. They offer a fair group rate for litters too. When I had to put down a puppy (ouch) Dr. Prather was like a mother and I wont forget her gentle kindness.
As for the pricing, well they have not raised their pricing in the five years I have been there until now... and lets face it business is business and they have to meet raising costs too. I don't like the extra charge anymore than the next guy.. with 8 dogs I should say I hate the extra charge.. I am needing their services all the time, but I understand.

We have been long time customers of the Winter Garden Animal HOspital. Out of all the Dr's located at this site, Dr Prather is by far the most extremely caring and truly passoinate about her work. SHe doesnt rush you in and out, like a number. She takes time to explain to you any issues, and gives you time to ask questions. She is receptive and approachable and extremely sweet. The only complaint I have is that the prices have gone up in the past couple of years, in which a visit to the vet for 2 small dogs for their yearly shots cost on average 200.00 including the office visit fee. Its a tug of war between great service versus cost. I agree that its worth paying for great service, however, there does come a limit. I have to admit that I have brought my dogs to an alternative cheaper facility to get their yearly shots done and saved much money. I have used the boarding facilities and only wish is that they used the bows provided for the top knot on my dog's hair, as when I returned, all of her hair was strung in her face, and she couldnt see, causing her eye ducts to tear. The offices are clean and location is good. The wait is minimal and the reception office is very nice. The hours are also good and they are flexible with scheduling if you are pressed with time at the end of the day. The much older gentleman Dr is not so friendly however, not sure if he's the owner or not.

We've been customers of this vet for 2+ years. We have 3 dogs. We've used their boarding services as well - and overall, in terms of the staff - we have been satisfied. As for the vets - some are more approachable and seem to have a genuine interest - versus others. Dr. Miller - owner - seems to be less tolerant and doesn't have the same warm bedside manner as the others we've experienced. Recently, we were SHOCKED to learn that they are now charging a "walk-in" charge. I called to hopefully see one of the vets (on a Friday morning) and was quickly told that there were no appointments available until "sometime next week." I was quickly told, however, that I could "walk-in" without an appointment today or Saturday - but would be charged an additional $15 to the normal $office visit. This, I find, appalling - - - SO - I guess that means if your pet is sick - and you need to take the pet to the doctor - you will be penalized - versus - if you have an appointment for surgery or an annual check-up or physical. This is just plain wrong. Penalize customers who have been faithful and loyal - who have recommended the clinic to others - who use their services ... both the clinic and the boarding ... and charge more because the animal is sick!!! Isn't that what they are there for? I guess we need to find out who Dr. Miller's dentist is, who his general practitioner is - etc., and ask them to charge more for Dr. Miller's same day without a previously set up appointment - office visit if he cracks a tooth, loses a filling or if he gets sick and needs to see a doctor for relief!!! If the clinic is that busy - then get more vets hired and take care of the customer without penalizing the customer just because he/she has a sick animal. This is just unbelievable to me ! We are going to see what we can do to maybe find another vet who appreciates our business and who is there to take care of SICK animals.
PROS: convenient location, boarding facility
CONS: Walk-in clients penalized due to having a sick pet

We recently became customers at Winter Garden Animal Hospital and have been truly pleased with the care of our animal. They are responsive to questions and most of the time, the wait period is minimal. They are conveniently located on Highway 50, and the staff is extremely courteous. We have found the prices to be reasonable, but do disagree with charging a walk in fee to established customers. That has been our only complain thus far.
PROS: Caring Doctors and Staff, Great Location
CONS: Walk In charge for established customers
