My eldest son started here 4 years ago. The school itself is only 5 years old. From the first time I stepped foot inside, I felt like I was at home. That has since changed. We have a new principal who has decided to make changes right off the bat, rather than observe for a few months (at least). The changes she has made has upset the entire school from teachers to the students. Even as a parent, I'm upset about some of these changes. No longer do I get the "hug" feeling there. All I feel now is tension. It's sad to have gone from a wonderful school to a prison in such a short time, but that is exactly the way of it.
The teachers..... ah...... so awesome! I loved it so much, I volunteered there as often as I could (at least once a week), joined the PTA (now a board member) and SAC (also a board member). If that's not enough, I am now going to be a substitute teacher there since my little one will start kindergarten this fall. Most of the volunteering has changed, as now I spend more time subbing here. I feel like I have to for the kids to get any kind of fun put into their days.
The only saving grace for this school is the outstanding teachers. If it wasn't for them, I would switch schools in a heartbeat.
