Shake Pit

The Shake Pit is a family owned, family run business that has been here for at least forty years. The burgers, fried mushrooms, malts and banana splits are simply wonderful. The atmosphere takes one back to the fifties; a few stools at a bar inside, picnic tables in the shade outside. The business is very involved with the local high school and is very much a part of the community. I always choose The Shake Pit when I want fast food. I believe it's important to support local, independent businesses; it's easy when the food, prices and service are as good as The Shake Pit.

Oh my gosh, I drive 20 miles to get to this place I love the milkshakes that much. I've been going here since I can remember, atleast 20 years. The peanut butter chocolate milkshake is my favorite.

It's a small place and gets extremely busy on Friday and Saturday nights with the teenie boppers.

I've never tried the regular food there, I just stick to the shakes. About $3.50 for a large. Parking has improved since the built a CVS behind it.

Family member went about two weeks ago and told me they're under new management and that the shakes are nothing special now. I haven't had a chance to return, but will update when I do with my opinion.

The Shake Pit looks like something out of the past. It is pretty simple and to the point and only has take out with a few picnic tables outside. If you want a real good cone of ice cream or a classic shake or malt then the Shake Pit is just the summer treat you have been looking for. The flavors or ice cream are large and the selection of choices are good too. This is a great place to bring the kids for a cone.
