Turner Heritage Homes

We were scheduled to close on a home on 9/14. We found out yesterday the property along with 2 others has a $35,000 lien on it after the title search and all the closing paperwork was completed and Turner Homes can't close. We live outside of ST. Louis and have non-refundable Hotels booked, Furniture moving booked, numerous family members coming with company vacations booked etc. etc. I just spoke to their representative John Wentzel and he could not have been more unprofessional. I asked him for his title and he said"It can be anything you want it to be". I explained to him our plight and he had little sympathy even though we originally went under contract on this property over 3 months ago. He finally said he "was incompetent" which he obviously is but usually when you are you do everything in your power to correct the situation with the consumer. He had no resolution other than to offer to lease me the property I am buying. I don't know about you but that makes NO sense to me. That is like renting the home you own. I didn't want to give them one star but this won't let me give them zero.

I only recently bought a Turner Heritage Home. Our real estate agent, Patty, was excellent. She was knowledgeable and forthright about all aspects of the process. From start to finish, she stood by us and the product. I love my home and it looks fantastic. Thank you.

The Turner Heritage homes are exquisite, but the warranty office is sluggish in responding to requests. The average time it takes them to fix problems in my new home is about 2 - 3 months. It seems like there is a single person devoted to handing the requests and if he's not in the office, your work order doesn't get processed. Delays, excuses, and not returning phone calls are words I would use to describe Turner Heritage's Warranty office. I wish I could elevate these issues, but I haven't found an contact person to do it.

We so looked forward to our new home purchase. Nothing could have been more disappointing. This is not an honest company. Please don't buy from this builder. A home buying experience should be a joyous one... ours was not.

Very unhappy with the customer service we got from this company. Cold and unfriendly. They would make promises to us and not keep them. Very hard to get them to take care of things according to the warranty. We call and send emails and they never gat back to us. I would never buy a home from these liars again.

We recently purchased a condo at SummerChase for my daughter and felt that Turner Heritage went the extra mile to make sure everything worked out for us. Their condos offered the best value and the appraiser told us they were holding their value better than other condo communities in the area. We highly recommend them!

We bought a home from Turner a little over three years ago and it was perfect...great service and we were treated well. BUT, the second home we built with Turner was a disaster. They didn't clear the property as promised. The workmanship was HORRIBLE. We still have problems with the tile and plumbing. The garage floor was not constructed correctly....I could just go on and on. They treated us poorly at the final walk-thru. They just wanted us to close so they could move on to another unsuspecting family. AT this time I would NEVER recommend a Turner home again.

We bought in a popular community called Bull Run. As soon as we moved in the neighbors bombarded us with complaints about their home. Uneven floors, bad wiring, broken sprinklers, applainces that didn't work, plumbing issues and just the fact that the company never fixes anything. We also began to have similiar problems and getting anyone out to fix anything was impossible. We think we will just sell the home and buy from a more quality buider next time. Lesson learned.

We went to one of their model homes and were treated so poorly! They did not want to give us any literature and acted as if they just wanted us to just leave. We asked about specials we had seen advertised, but they claimed there were no specials going on. Fine Turner Heritage Homes we will buy a house elsewhere.

I would not recommend buying a home from this builder. There was just so much we were unhappy with. Find another builder to build your new home. Don't Bother!

My husband and I built our home with Turner back in 1999 - and it was the best move we've ever made. From start to finish - the Turner team was outstanding. I've heard so many people saying their home building experience was a nightmare and they'll never build again. Our experience with Turner was just the opposite - we enjoyed every moment of it. Any problems that came up along the way were quickly addressed - both before and after closing. Seven years later - the outstanding craftsmanship is evident and we're thrilled with the excellent investment we made by building with Turner.

I have three kids so I spend a lot of time at home. Turner Homes are so well built and easy to keep clean. If you buy a spec home you can move right in. I'd recommend Turner to anyone who's in the market for a new home.

This is Tallahassee's most established builder - they've been around 50 years. Solid homes and a solid reputation. We liked the way they let us customize the home, adding features in their design center. A really great experience.

Our Turner Home is our favorite yet. This is my family's third home. Great floor plan and well-built. I'm encouraging all of my friends to buy Turner.

My wife and I bought our first new home about two months ago.
The home backyard has a small area with natural vegetation and trees. During the final inspection the Turner promised and wrote us on the inspection peter that they will get this natural area cleaned. After closing the world has changed, no more sweet talk. When we went back and ask them to clean the area, they refused to do so and insisted that they have already done it.
I have never seen a large company like Turner Heritage with such bad customer services.

Be very aware...

There really isn't anything good I can say about your experience buying a new home from Turner. If you want anything done plan on dealing with Mr. Turner himself. The house wasn't build with attention to any detail. Lots of problems after we moved in and getting them to come out and do anything is impossible. Avoid them at all costs!

PROS: NOTHING!
CONS: EVERYTHING!

My husband and I bought a home from Turner Heritage homes. The home was very nice but we can tell that the builders did not take the pride in building the home that they used to in the good old days.

Turner has a year warrenty on our homes. You have to keep up on them to get them to fix things but the warrently service man was very helpful.

PROS: years of experience
CONS: lack of pride in work
