I am a CCS alumni and highly recommend the school. I attended Covenant from K3-12th grade. My senior year of high school, I took the majority of my classes at Gulf Coast Community College and found the classes to be easier than those I took at Covenant. The school did a great job of preparing me both academically and spiritually for the real world. I taught in the public school system for 3 years and I will be sending my children to Covenant rather than public school or any other private school here in town. And by the way, if you read the posting below mine, it's fake. My husband is the P.E. teacher at CCS and has no idea what that posting is about, or who "Ruth" is. And at Covenant, it's a family. Everyone knows everyone else. So I'm guessing it's a parent who is trying to get you to send your kids to their private school in town.

My daughter attended Covenant Christian School from sixth to eighth grades. The concept of the school is good in that they have a Christian background. We personally had a problem with a teacher there. I was not called for a parent conference at all during this time or told in any manner that there was a problem, but the teacher gave my daughter an F for not participating in PE. She made A's in her other classes, so I was shocked when she got the F in PE. I met with the pricipal and was told that there's nothing to be done, and they stand by the teacher's decision not to call a conference. I don't get this. I would have gotten a progress report and possibly a teacher conference in a public school, and I expected more from a private school. I woujld recommend this school only after searching out other options and interviewing the specific teachers. The problem in general with the private schools here are that the pay scale is so low, it's hard to attract the teachers.

Business Response:

Possible Confusion I think that this person may be confused. I checked with the PE teacher and he has never given an F to any student and he was the PE teacher during the years mentioned. I have never had a conversation with a parent as described. I have been the headmaster since June 2005. Progress reports are sent home for every middle and high school student for every course. Parents are always welcome to conference with teachers and teachers are encouraged to conference with parents.
