This is for the South Tampa location. I'll jump on the band wagon of folks who say avoid this bike shop because of terrible customer relations and inflated pricing. The guy in charge during the day completely blew me off as I tried to

I wrote a review for Flying Fish as I've had nothing but positive experiences there. They have two locations so I wanted to make sure my positive review showed up here as well.

Absolutely, the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Their work takes forever and is way overpriced. The total increased by $14 dollars when I picked up my bike. A call to check on the bike was received by attitude. Excuse me! A business like this is customer driven BUT they don't seem to understand this concept. So, do yourself a favor and go to the Trek store a few minutes down the road... or anywhere else for that matter.

Pros: Location

Cons: Too many to list

Over the weekend I purchased GU sports drink at Flying Fish and went out on a long run. I've never had probs with those drinks but this one tasted horrible to me. Today I took it back and asked if we could exchange for something else. I was told "once it's opened we can't sell it". They failed to realize that they maybe would lose $10 on the product, but would have made a happy customer. I plan to buy a road bike in the near future and lots of gear. I will return to Chainwheel Drive. They understand customer service.

Pros: They have a great looking store with lots of new stuff

Cons: I don't think they understand good customer service

A while back, I went to Dud Thames Bike Shop to purchase a Bike. Some of the staff was quite pleasant, a couple were were quite rude. They didnt let me purchase a bicycle, but instead sold me some smaller items. This did not seem like a good business decision to me.

Bicycle shop staff is quite attractive, but some of them are dumb as rocks. They use their good looks to manipulate unsuspecting customers, probably so they can charge them exorbitant prices for the finest of bicycles, of which there is a good selection, and make a handsome profit. Some of the staff do not communicate or deal with complaints well. Others are quite pleasant, quick and efficient. Thus, a trip to Dud Thames is a gamble. Take a chance!

When I owned a business, when customers presented a legitimate telephonic complaint, I provided them with a credit voucher by mail, with a nice picture of one or two of our more expensive items, and a dollar amount that they could use towards their next purchase. Customers seemed quite happy with this arrangement, and did not write mean complaints like BeeBo and me. Instead, they told their friends what a great place we were to do business with, and continued to do business with us. It is not worth a few dollars to get a bad review.

I changed my girlfriends tube in her tire, it went flat right away, I had to leave town, so she brought it to DUD Thames shop to get it fixwed while I was out of town. There was definitley something in the tire that caused the tube to be punctured so quickly. She passed that information on to the bike shop, and they replaced her tube, obviously without taking heed to the information that my girlfriend gave them. She took her bike to the pinellas trail, and within 1/2 mile, you guessed it, flat. For 16 dollars she got a whole 1/2 mile. $16!!!!!! don't waste your time or money in such a horrible shop. Buy the way, I got the same service, for 4 dollars at a shop 3 miles away from DUD's. Oh,they pulled out the glass that was stuck in the tire for free, and a tube cost 4 dollars as well.
