If your looking for a jeweler that is an honest family owned business, with exceptional quality jewelry, and provides above and beyond customer service.......this is the place to go. My fiance" bought my diamond ring here and I couldn't have asked for anything better. I get compliments all the time on my ring.

Silverberg's does the best custom design work in jewelry. Returning from a great vacation in Tanzania, Africa I acquired 3 large loose Tanzanite gem stones. My hope was to make a pair of earrings and a large pendant. My friends recommended Silverberg's. I brought in pictures from magazines and met with Barbara, the store manager. She is a gemologist with a great understanding and passion for gemstones. Together we came up with some outstanding designs. I am a particular person. I truly appreciate quality craftsmanship. I am so pleased with how my Tanzanite earrings and pendant came out. I especially want to thank Barbara who spent so much personal time with me. The detail on the jewelry that Silverberg's hand made for me is absolutely beautiful. Thank you Silverberg Jewelry.

I never wrote a review before. I am a Sarasota resident for a long time. I have been going to Silverbergs for about 15 years now. I only let them repair my jewelry! The manager, Barbara, is a Graduate Gemologist. She takes extra effort to insure that my heirloom ring is in good condition. She found a chip on my Diamond that I didn't know existed. She even knew what year my mother's engagement ring was most likely from. I have now gotten to know Jim, her partner. What a friendly charismatic man! In Barbara's absence, he treats me respectfully and we usually are laughing together quickly. Whenever I leave Silverbergs, I feel like I was family. Barbara once brought my repaired bracelet to my home, knowing I needed it for a special event that evening. On my recommendation, my son and his wife have bought many items at Silverbergs. I trust Silverbergs and I wanted the rest of Sarasota to know. Go there, meet them. You will be impressed.

My fiance bought my engagement ring and wedding band here. Eddie Silverberg was attentive, patient, friendly, and very easy going! A week later after the proposal, the ring ended up being a little too big. SIlverberg Jewelry Company provided ease and promptness in correctly sizing the ring. When we went to pick up the ring the customer service was still fantastic. I must say that this jewelry store has become my favorite place to shop for jewelry. I highly recommend Silverberg Jewelry Company and give them 5 stars for outstanding service and wonderful employees.

We just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. When my husband and I got married we didnt have much money. We havent shopped for a diamond in 30 years. We recently went to Silverberg Jewelry Company in Sarasota. Barbara, the manager, was so helpful and very low pressure. We really hit it off together. We bought a beautiful diamond at a very fair price. My husband and I are so happy.

My friend recommended Silverbergs to me when I first moved to Florida. We got my engagement ring there (over 10 years ago), then our wedding bands, and several more items over the years. Recently, my husband surprised me with a BEAUTIFUL diamond ring for our anniversary. I just love it!! I love shopping at Silverbergs. The store is beautiful and the staff is so friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Silverberg Jewelry Company. You wont be disappointed.

My husband and I were shopping for a diamond for our anniversary. We shopped many places. We were not experienced about diamonds. We went to Silverberg Jewelry Company. I told them we were not knowledgeable about diamonds. They took their time and explained the many differences in diamonds. They were friendly and knowledgeable. We were very happy with our purchase. I would recommend Silverberg Jewelry Company for any jewelry purchase.

The first time we walked into Silverberg, Barbara, the manager, said that she didn't personally sell the diamonds but, would have their salesperson, Jim, bring in some diamonds for us to look at. We went back the next weekend and were shown poor quality stones. Jim said he would speak with the owner and get us exactly what we wanted. On the 3rd time back, Jim presented us with a stone that he said matched our specifications. AFTER the sale was rung up on our credit card, he informed us that they didn't have the actual certification in the store (it was in their home office in St. Pete) and then he told us the computer said the stone was "N" in color even though he presented it and the tag on the stone said it was "H" in color. He was going to have Barbara check with the home office on Monday and would "take care of us either way". We did not want to take the ring until we had the actual certification so we left and went home without the diamond. 10 a.m. Monday morning, I went back to the store and the manager Barbara said she checked and it was an "N" colored stone, not "H" as the tag on the actual ring stated. I told her we weren't interested and she informed me that they would not issue a refund and I would have to pick out something else. She was right about one thing - their receipt does state in fine print, no refunds - we just didn't read it carefully before signing and that's our fault. The salesperson, Jim, was not in Monday or Tuesday. After my husband and I made calls to the Sarasota, St. Pete and Clearwater stores, trying to reach the owner (without success), I finally got a call from our salesperson Jim, late on Tuesday afternoon. He told me that they would issue a refund but, we'd have to pay a 5% restocking fee -- on a diamond we never took possession of!!!! He never said it but, he implied that this "restocking fee" was the troll-like manager, Barbara's cut on the commission, since she's the first one we met when we walked into the store. They finally issued a partial refund on our credit card 2 weeks later MINUS the "restocking fee" that was over $800 dollars. It was almost worth it to be done with this slimy, despicable company. The only satisfaction we have is to tell this awful experience to everyone we can and hope someone else is spared what went through. The previous reviewer also had issues with service, quality and deceptive practices. If Barbara writes a follow saying how "happy" they made me, I promise I'll write a follow up and let you know if they ever refund my $812 "restocking fee"!

Response from this business:

This is my response to Katrina A.’s review posted May 13, 2014. My name is Ed Silverberg. I am the owner of Silverberg Jewelry Company. I find it very distressing to read the false review by Katrina A. Most of what is written in her review is not true or the facts are distorted. Let me please state the facts: Katrina A. is an alias for Valerie Dallacqua. Mrs. Valerie Dallacqua and Mr. Charles Dallacqua purchased a diamond ring on Saturday, April 26, 2014 from Silverberg Jewelry Company for $16,250. The ring is a 2.13 carat round diamond, certified by EGL to be an N color, VS2 clarity, set into a platinum ring mounting with 2 baguette diamonds weighing .50 carats. Total diamond ring carat weight is 2.63 carats. They used a credit card for payment. The customers requested that Silverberg Jewelry mail their new purchased ring to Chattanooga, Tennessee. They filled out a mailing form with their appropriate information including Driver License #, mailing address, etc, signed the mailing form and paid the $100 extra shipping charge. It is written on this mailing form, “Must arrive at destination by Wednesday, April 30, 2014. Because this transpired on a Saturday, the soonest it could be mailed was Monday, April 28, 2014. This is why the customers did not take the ring home when they left the store. Mr. and Mrs. Dallacqua seemed very pleased with their purchase. They clearly knew the exact quality of the diamond. It was explained to them both by the salesman and also written on their sales receipt, which was read over and signed by Charles Dallacqua. On Monday, April 28, 2014, (the day we were planning to mail the Dallacqua’s diamond ring to Tennessee), to our surprise, Mrs. Dallacqua came into the store saying, “I changed my mind. I do not want the diamond that I bought from you. Do not mail it. I want a refund.” Most consumers are not aware that when a business gives a credit card refund to a customer, the credit card charge to the business is still charged to the business. The business does not get this charge refunded by the credit card company. For example, if a customer made a purchase of $100 the credit card company would charge the business (depending on the card) between 3%-5%, so maybe about $4.00. Obviously, no big deal. But if the amount charged is $16,250, this becomes a big expense to the business. The fact is that on April 30, 2014, 2 days after Mrs. Dallacqua requested a refund (not 2 weeks later as she states in her review) Silverberg Jewelry issued a full refund of $15,537.50. We deducted a 5% restocking fee, which equaled $812.50, from the initial sale of $16,250. This is the crux of Mr. & Mrs. Dallacqua’s beef. We are a small business that cannot afford to lose $800. The customer changed their minds, for whatever their reason. Silverberg Jewelry gave a refund after short consideration, less charges that were incurred. We are a family owned business that has operated for 3 generations. We have thousands of very happy customers. We have a strong reputation of being fair and honest. I hope this letter will shed some light on the truth with regards to Katrina A.’s May 13, 2014 review. Edward Silverberg

This is a reply to the review from Gail M. I am Barbara Larson, the
Manager at Silverberg Jewelry Company. Gail and I had a happy
ending, She went on to exchange the Diamond that SHE choose for
a differnet Diamond and paid us MORE money. This would not have
occured had I not done every thing in my power to please her. I am
sure that after my final visit with Gail M, she greatly regrets writing
this review. Silverberg Jewelry Company prides itself on giving a
great value with down home friendly professional service. There are times when a customer treats us with disrespect and I have to be firm in my approach. This happens very rarely at Silverberg Jewelry
Company. I have changed my staff to find the very best associates who are genuine, knowledgeable, friendly, and simple lovely people. As a manager, it gives me great pride to work with such
a great staff like Jim Gross and Galina Bass. You only need to step inside to feel appreciated. When the day is done, and I turn the key to lock the store, I know that my staff and especially myself have done an outstanding job giving great and caring service.

I regret ever purchasing a diamond from Silverberg Jewelry. Someone recommended them to me so on Feb. 4, I paid a down payment for a diamond and made arrangments for them to mount it in older ring and made the final purchase two weeks later. Today, nearly two months later, I still don't have what I paid for, I went from Jim to Barbara, the manager, and I feel like I jumped from the frying pan into the fire. Barbara has handled me in a less professional manner than Jim. She repeatedly has blown my valid complaints off! And to add insult to injury she said, "she was it and that I could not talk to her boss in person, or even speak to him via telephone. Nor did she offer me an address as to how I could correspond. Now what reputable company refuses to let you talk to the powers that be, especially when you don't possess the customer relation skills to resolve the issue? After all, as she so unprofessionally stated, "I hate to put it this way, but I only work here." We're not even talking about the mantra: the customer is always right, We're talking outright not getting what you paid for and the company not standing behind their work. We're talking about not getting the setting that you orgiginally agreed upon and when asked to fix it, you get a crooked stone with a note asking you to pay additional money for something you never signed up for. We're talking when you get your ring back initially and the height of prongs are half the height, you are given an excuse as to why it's not as agreed upon. The beauty of the original ring was gone! Need I say more? It's been a horrendous experiece and I plan to get the word to the owners. I can't imagine that he/she/they approve(s) of such poor customer service or they would not be the thriving business that Silvergberg has come to be these 25 years. After all, my mother recommended them. Needless to say, she's highly dissapointed and she won't be recommending anyone else to Silverberg Jewelery.

A professional family owned jewelry store.
Beautiful store, huge selection, and warm knowledgeable
staff. We only shop at Silverbergs. We have had many
jewelry pieces expertly repaired. We were impressed
with the manager, Barbara Larson. She's been there since we got engaged in 2001 and I think she has been there
over 25 years! She helped us sell my grandmother's ring on consignment and I got $2000 for it. We send our family, neighbors and friends to Silverbergs.
