Office will Not answer phones.
My second review. He is still good at what he does. I think he can meet with his staff and talk to them about answering the telephones. He gets 1/2 or no star from me and a hundred others on customer service. THEY WILL NOT ANSWER THE PHONES. They open at 7:30 a.m. I have sat at my desk and call repeatedly non stop from 7:30 a.m til 9:00 or later and it either goes to voice mail or they now have something on the phone where it clicks off after so many rings. There is no need for an office not to answer the phones and most times they have about 3 -4 girls siting at the work station.

Great for the poor!
I have all of the reviews on Dr. Cerra -Coast Dental. Of course -each it's own. First of all - there is not one person in that office behaves ghetto. My goodness, what is wrong with you. Secondly, Dr. Cerra is like a mad scientist in a good way.I like him. and all of his assistants. If it was not for his office and the discount insurance they offer for uninsured I don't know what my mouth would look like. The pros & cons: the wait is really long and it is hard to get thru on the busy phone sometimes. Pros. You get your money worth. I have recommend him several times. Forget running to Albany and all these othr places for cheaper rates. By the time you add up the gas an additional visits - you are out a lot more.

You will not be able to get your teeth cleaned on your first visit, but you will be diagnosed with serious dental problems which will require expensive treatment, the majority of which is not going to be covered by your insurance. This chain also offers to sell you expensive optional services (like a toothbrush), which is again not covered. I did not get a good felling about this practice and left after the first visit.

This office all around was a bad experience. I feel as though they were almost scam artist. The prices were redicoulus for procedures not even needed. And when I tried to contact them to cancel my next appoinment they did a dissapearing act for three days!

The african american women in this office have this "honey girl" mentallity which mis-leads you into thinking that the clinic is Ghetto oriented. However its not, you will wait an hour just because. But the actual dentist are very skilled in thier work. So you have a choice good work or terrible customer relations.....? I chose the work.

Coast Dental is kind of like a Patients First for teeth. I think the one in Tallahassee is currently the headquarters for a dental franchise. That being said, the service is nothing like your small practice, family dentist. In fact over the couple of years that I've been a patient there, I had over 4 different dentists and noticed that a few have left. Otherwise, the pricing is reasonable, especially if you don't carry dental insurance or your insurance doesn't cover certain procedures (i.e. crowns). They have a discount program, where you pay a flat rate for a year (around $70 I think) and you get free cleanings, checkups, x-rays, and a couple of other freebies, plus around 40% discount on other procedures. They also do almost everything in-house now, rather than referring you to an expensive specialist (i.e. for root canals). I've had a lot of work done, which would have not been possible without the Coast savings plan, due to my lack of insurance.
PROS: Dental Savings plan for uninsured/underinsured.
CONS: you will most likely get better care at a smaller local practice.

I went to Coast Dental last year and was very disappointed. They told me I needed a certain procedure that my regular dentist confirmed that I did not. I felt they were more about making money than caring about the patient. I would not return in the future.
PROS: big waiting room
CONS: felt were not honest in approach
