After a huge headache of deciding WHAT tires I wanted on my car and my wifes car, I made the decision to go through Discount Tire because they had good prices and I have only heard good things (online ordering anyway). I called up on a Friday (11/16) and spoke to Donald, they only had a set of 4 for one car, the other 4 would have to be ordered (would be in around 11/23). No big deal, make an appointment to get the 4 put on the next morning (11/17). When I went (10am) in it was all swell for about 10 minutes. They took the keys to the car and told me it would be about 45 minutes because I had an appointment. At around 10:45 my car finally went in the bay (there went that 45 minutes to be out of there). Around 15-20 minutes later a guy walks in asking if I have a socket for my lugnuts (I didn't, I had a deep socket already in my toolbox at home, nothing special), I said no and he said "ok". There didn't seem to be a problem, they managed to get my wheels off about 15 minutes later (more on this shortly).
During my time there I am hearing a worker come in and say that he can't find a tire, at least a handful of times. I don't really pay much attention to it because I figure it's a tire place and they could be talking about anything. At around noon (yep, I am still at the store!) I go outside because it was getting cold inside. I see a worker pull up in a Scion with a bag from Lowes, he hands it off to another guy. He takes the item and puts it on the impact and starts putting on my wheels (wait, what? Why did they need a socket to put my wheels ON? How did they take them OFF???). Then Donald walks over to me and begins to tell me that they could not find my fourth tire (remember how I said I heard them saying it? Yeah, they were talking about my tire) and that they put a DIFFERENT tire on it (so I have 3 tires I came in for and the 4th one is just something else they had in-stock). I immediately said that wasn't going to work, my car being awd (Subaru) with a mismatched tire isn't going to fly. Especially after sitting there for over 2 hours and NOBODY even bothered to mention ANYTHING to me the whole entire time to see if maybe I wouldn't be ok with that or if we could get do a different set of 4 MATCHING tires.
Then we agree to see if they have 4 tires in-stock as an alternative, he finds some on the computer, he goes to find all 4 of them. He comes back and says he has all 4 but someone else is coming in later to get them put on. I can't have them.
Then I have him call a store closer to me to find out if they have a fourth tire for me, they do, I have to drive over there now to get the mismatched tire removed and the matching one put on. At this point another associate mentions he had to send one of his guys to get a deep socket to put my lugnuts on (I didn't even think to ask how he managed to get them off beforehand). I leave at around 12:30pm with a $73 credit (I'm not really sure where this number came from) to head over to the other store about 30 minutes away, they send me on my way by about 1:30 and I make it home around 2pm. Four whole hours to get 4 MATCHING tires put on my car.

My wife called in on 11/23 to see if they got my ordered set of tires in (General Grabber AT2) and they said they did not but they have a 2nd delivery coming in, might happen. My wife calls back later for the 2nd time, they still don't have them. At this point, no biggie, Donald did say it could have been around the 24th so I figured the 25th sounds logical. My wife calls on the 25th and they said that the 3 tires came in already, they don't have an ETA for the 4th tire (this store seems to have an affinity for the number 3). I contact Discount Tire Direct and ask if there is a shortage on my tire and they say there is not, they even have them in-stock ready to ship. My wife calls again (twice) on the 26th and they still have no info. Finally on Monday they get my 4th tire in and off to the closer store it goes so I can get them installed on Wednesday. The Waterford Lakes/Alafaya store got me in and out within 30 minutes and all 4 tires MATCHED!

Never again will I order or recommend tires from the Sanford store. The business practice and communication is terrible. Even if it was only my instance, that is enough for me, my family members and friends.

.

The attention was very professional, people that work there know what they are doing, they will come out and inspect your tires and tell you if you need tires or not, honestly; business is good for them since the place is always busy, I guess is a good thing for them but not so good for the customers since they have to wait more for their vehicles.
