way to many patients

by Amanda S.

After my gyno retired and left his medical records over to ob gyn associates I have been very disappointed and had nothing but bad experiences with them. I read the reviews about Dr. Pitt and after seeing her today and I have to agree I did find her to be rude, and it seemed like she was trying to rush me out the door. I also, hate how I have to wait atleast 45mins. to see a doctor. One time I had to wait and an hour and 15mins. just to get a shot, I wasn't even seeing a doctor that day. I think they have way to many patients, and they just ship you off to the next location. I also, hate how unprivate the room is where they take you in to weight you, I can always hear other patients health information, and I don't want anyone over hearing my information. Also, I thought the supervisor of billing was a little rude when I asked for a receipt. After today I will be finding a new gynecologist, I tired to stick it out there, but I just can't stand how large it is and the way they run their office.

Obstetrics & Gynecology Associates is great

by L. J.

I have been a patient since 2003 - I had my second child in 2004 with them and have always been happy with the level of care. At check in, they always remembered me. And the wait was never very long. I have seen most of the doctors in the practice at one time or another and have always been treated well by all staff and doctors. I have had lots of "female" issues, including lumps and pain in my breast, premenopause and things I thought were silly to maybe bring up and talk about, but I was always treated respectfully. I like that the pratice has doctors who seem to specialize in different areas, so you can get great care without going to someone else.
I have lots of friends who are patients there and have always seemed satisfied when we've talked about the doctors. I would highly recommend them.
Regarding some of the other posts, I think every doctor has pluses and negatives, good days and bad. Sometimes when we see them, we are in an emotional state and that definately effects our opinions of them and the care we get. But you need to consider the source and generally, I think the care is great.

They are great except Dr. Pitt...

by Kristal L.

I have to say that my experience with this practice has been great with the exception of DR.Pitt. My first visit was with my first pregnancy that I unfortunately miscarried. I saw Dr. Pitt and she was very ignorant and rude. I mean there was no hope in anything I think the stress that she put me through was also a factor that my first pregnancy did not end up well. I am now pregnant again and so far so good. Dr. Chamorro I think is a great doctor, Dr. Watkins, and Dr. Arnold, and Armas are great! Although eventually I might have to see Dr. Pitt i sure hope it is not with this pregnancy. So if you are planning on going to this practice see for yourself but Dr. Pitt is not a listener nor a good doctor.

I like the Dr's just not the size

by Heidi R.

I do like this practice a lot, especially Dr. Jones. I do think any frustration I have from this office is because they are SOOOO BIG! I think it is too easy to feel like a number rather than a person. But I do think my care is good when I am with the nurses or DR's.

I am surprised by the negative responses.

by Diana I.

I was surprised by the negative reviews on this site. I had nothing but great experiences with this practice. Dr. Watkins delivered my first son, Dr. Jones delivered my second, and Dr. Pitt performed my second son's circumcision. I had nothing but great feelings leaving each appointment and my birthing experiences were fantastic! They were personable, professional, and extremely knowledgeable and informative. I wouldn't pick any other practice for these life altering events! Thank you OBGYN Associates!

Quality practice with the exception of Dr. Jones

by S M.

I have mixed feelings about this very busy Brandon office. Dr.Baron, Dr.Armas, & Dr.Pitt are my favorites in that order. However, if I would have listened to Dr. Allyson Jones' "expertise" my unborn baby would have DIED. I had the unfortunate experience of contracting "Fifths Disease" while pregnant with my 2nd child. The symptoms are very subtle in a woman who is pregnant and expecting to have pain in the hands & feet. I went to the office telling Dr. Jones that I knew I had been recently exposed to "Fifths" by a family member that was just diagnosed by their Dr. She said the symptoms the family member had did not sound like "Fifths" at all (Their blood work proves otherwise). She said I had likely just been bitten by a spider (no bite site seen). Thank God that I wanted the blood test anyway, which led to confusion in the lab of exactly how the test is performed. Result..Positive. 4 months of intense procedures & 6 weeks early my baby is proof that Dr. Jones is NO EXPERT.

A Female OB/GYN Who Does Not Listen...

by Lori L.

I have seen Dr. Pitt once for an annual exam and thought she was OK initially. A few months later I returned to see her because of my overwhelming symptoms related to premenopause. My entire quality of life has come to a screeching stop because of the hot flashes, low libido, anxiety, weight gain, loss of normal vitality (just to name a few!). I had done some extensive research on hormone replacement therapy and asked what can be done to help with these symptoms...all she said is that she could put me on birth control pills (which I don't need) and anti-depressants! I told her that my symptoms don't feel like depression because I know what clinical depression feels like. I asked her about natural hormone replacement and she rolled her eyes and basically said that most in their practice do not believe in this. Bottom line: In so many words I was told to suck it up because it's going to get worse. She just wouldn't listen, nor was she open to exploring other alternatives with me. Shame on you Dr Pitt. You will understand when you get to be my age. Why don't YOU go do more homework? Over the years I have come to realize that women HAVE to be their own advocate for health because, it seems, that the majority of western medical practitioners believe their way is the ONLY way and your demeanor, Dr. Pitt, shows me how ignorant a Dr. can be.

Awful service!

by Latisha W.

I am a new mom and this was my first time at the Brandon office. The woman who took my sonogram was extremely ignorant and rude. I asked her a prengancy question and she chewed my head office replying, "I am a NOT doctor! I don't know what to tell you... I just do the ultrasounds!" I was just asking a simple question. I didn't expect someone to snap on me about it. The woman could have said it in a more respectful tone, opposed to talking down to me like I was dirt. Then I meet the doctor, she wasn't friendly at all. She didn't even shake my hand. She seemed more concerned with getting my out of the office and not concerned with my problem after I asked her several questions about it. The problem was common I guess, but she just was so cold and uncaring with her answers. OB/GYN Associates has been a horrible experience, thus far. And if my next visit is as bad as my first I am definately switching to a different women's care health center. Thank you

Wonderful 1 of 6

by Anonymous

I went to OBGyn & Associates as a new and pregnant mother. Dr Jones educated me about issues concerning my health that I nor other physicians ever mentioned. She was caring, took her time and allowed me to ask questions without feeling ignorant. If you want a genuine female physician she is truly great.

AWESOME DOCTORS!!!!!

by Anonymous

I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THIS GROUP: DR ARMAS, DR BARON, DR PITT, DR ARNOLD, DR WATKINS & DR JONES. I came to their group because I had several GYN problems and had the opportunity to meet with each one over the years. They are very concerned about women's health and they take the time to educate thier patients. The office is organized and clean and the staff is always helpful. I have had several friends that delivered their children with this group and they have also been impressed with the doctors. I am always recommending this practice to family and friends. If you want doctors who care, choose this group!!!

Top Notch OBGYN Group

by J B. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 12,755

I've been going to them for 3 years now. I've seen several doctors there. They really are a great group and, from what I've heard, the best in Brandon. So, I'm shocked that they have not been rated yet. It's a big practice, so it's quite busy. They're on Parsons to the south of the hospital in a new building behind a children's health group.

They're well organized, courteous and well-decorated. The doctors are excellent. Of course, wouldn't it always be great to get into see your doctor the same day you call? Well, that generally doesn't happen unless you're really in an emergency (or perhaps pregnant). They do, however, have nurse practictioners on staff, so you can see someone generally the same day or the next day. You'll have to book your "well woman exam" 3-4 months in advance.

I love it there. It's the best group I've been to in my 35 years and 3 cities. There's a nice mix of both female and male doctors to suit your preference.

I know when I started there most doctors weren't accepting new patients but, since they expanded, I believe they are again.

WORTHLESS

by lirz

This is the doctor to see if you want to be treated like cattle. Do NOT expect good or even average care. The care is superficial, so you better hope that you do not develop complications because they will either ignore them or pawn you off to another practice. But not until they wait until the last minute to take your money. They will also ignore your concerns, questions and requests. They will refuse to perform any procedure that they deem "unnecessary" even if you ask for it. They will also refuse to give you an order or prescription to have the procedure done elsewhere if they deem it "unnecessary". And when tragedy strikes they will make themselves scarce and dissapear just when you need them the most. It could mean your baby's life so please think twice before choosing this practice.

Pros: NONE

Cons: EVERYTHING
