In the past I have left a number of items with La France Dry Cleaners and my clothing has been cleaned properly. I recently left a very expensive, one of a kind blouse ($125) with them. It was a delicate item and I clearly asked if this

An outfit was brought to them in April. Not only did they lose half of it, they only offered 20$ (July) in dry cleaning. The outfit was over $300. An outfit was brought in with the request to remove a stain. Not only was the stain in, but pressed in. The owners are incredibly rude. They lose & ruin your clothing without apologies, in fact they berate, insult, hang up on and promise action without results. Combative and dishonest business principles will not bring us back. We are still waiting for the return phone call and the check that he has supposedly put in the mail multiple times over the past several months. Scott's son promises it is in the mail as of this evening after three hang-ups.*The site requires minimum of 1 star, they are -5 in our rating.

B4 I left my dress there I asked specifically IF they could have the job done in 3 days as I was leaving town. The dress had some stains on it. I was assured they could IF I was willing to come in after 4PM on that day. I agreed and came in at 5:25PM to be told my dress was not even on the premises.Plus there was no sense of apology - just a tough luck attitude.I firmly asked what was going to be done as I needed the dress and was leaving town. Were they going to ship it out of state at their expense? Once again - a lackluster sense of customer service prevailed. Well we could deliver it to you, When? Tonight. They would bring it to my home - where I would not be for several hours. No bring it to North Port as I have to go to a friend's for dinner. I asked to speak to the owner, and a phone call was made to another location.I was never rude by swearing or the like - but my displeasure was evident. Why had they not called me to tell me the stains were not coming out, and left it to me to decide if I wanted them to continue working on it was my question? At least then I could have said no, taken it w/ me on the trip and found another cleaner. But no - that was not considered by LaFrance. When the owner finally found my dress, I had to hear the whole song and dance about them not getting the stain out. By now my patience was wearing thin - I just wanted them to deliver the dress.I gave him the address and my cell phone #. I need it within two hours I said. OK. I also asked for a phone # where I could find him after hours, and was given one.Once again I said to the counter girl - why wasn't I called that the dress was not ready since YOU were the one I spoke to last week.It was my mistake. Fine - but not a customer relations solution. And by 7:17Pm neither my dress nor a phone call was in North Port so I called and got the main number. Where is my dress? Yes, was I aggravated - sure. Would you not be?At 7:35PM I called again and left a message with the out of state address saying I expected LaFrance to FED EX to me - at their expense - and I would take it to a more reputable dry cleaner as providing good customer service was not a priority.10 minutes later the owner calls me from an untracable number and tells me I am not getting my dress and proceeds to berate me.I came back with I am the customer and I think I have the right to be upset. I had gone into a contract with them based on certain stipulations and they had failed to live up to those stipulations and then FAILED to make good on their error. And I quote Scott said."I don't care!", and then repeated it again and again. His daughter in law had been the counter girl, and had been upset. He then proceeded to continually berate me, and when I would interject he said he would hang up on me. Was he forgetting he was the business owner and not a parent. So he hung up.I called again the main # and left the message I wanted my dress, his daughter-in law should have said no on the delivery date from the beginning and I would let him talk, and yes I was a member of the press and could find ways to let others know about his lousy customer service. You are reading this are you not?Once again he calls, I say nothing and he falls back into bad mouthing me. I finally interrupted him to say I did not need to hear his ranting all I wanted was my dress. Do you think LaFrance has a mental health insurance plan? I told him I needed to pull over - which I did as I was in traffic and his rantings were causing me to lost concentration. So I pulled over and grabbed my recorder. Then he told me I had 5 seconds to talk to him. He was giving me orders. He told me I would never see my dress again. I felt like it had become the Lindberg baby. He demanded I pay in full. Was he kidding? Or maybe his meds had worn off.He told me I had lost my last chance, and hung up.I then for the last time called the main # and told him I had him on tape and he had best have an attorney. Now of course I am leaving town on business for several weeks.I'll bet my dress is lost forever.LaFrance might be the only dry cleaner in Pt Charlotte and I guess they think that gives them the right to act this way. Next time I'll take my stuff to Venice. Why give your hard earned money to nasty business owners?

Anytime I take something to this dry cleaner they are able to get out any stain I've had. They have taken great care with all of my clothing. I took in a blouse one day to have cleaned and pressed and didn't realize a button was missing. When I picked it up they told me they had matched it as closely as possible, but it wasn't a perfect match. When I got it home and looked at it, I could hardly tell which button had been replaced until I REALLY looked closely. This small act (that there was no charge for) keeps me going back again and again.
