Make sure not to go on a Friday night. It took over an hour to get our order, when we notified the Manager on duty about our the long wait, he told us that "It's like this every Friday". I don't know why they don't prepare for the large crowd volume by having more servers & cooks on staff, since its like that "every Friday". The manager's demeanor was very nonchalant about our concern (we were a party of 7 very hungry patrons). I asked for some sort of compensation on our bill.... the managers solution was to deduct 10% off of only ONE bill. The food quality was only average. What bothered me most was the lack of customer service at this restaurant. They have definately lost a patron... I will never go there again.

I discovered the joys of sushi at this small downtown restaurant. I love the atmosphere and the service is usually good. I've noticed that every time I go there with a large party, we have horrible service. I also recommend making reservations for large parties, especially for dinner on a weekend. I'm not a fan of their Euro-Japanese cuisine menu (the non-sushi menu). The quality of the sushi depends highly on who is rolling that night. They have a lot of student "chefs" who don't know or care about proper sushi techniques. However the sushi is always fresh and delicious even if improperly rolled. The best is the all you can eat sushi buffet on Sunday (6pm -???). You get AYCE salad and miso soup as well as all you can eat from a bar of about 5 or 6 different rolls for around $12. I recommend calling before coming for the buffet, because they discontinue it occasionally (mostly when students aren't in town). Not the most authentic in town, but at least not the most expensive.

PROS: good, inexpensive sushi in a great location
CONS: not very authentic
