We've been going to the Rush Lake Motel for nearly 20 years on Gator Football weekends - not as much in recent years since I've moved out of state. My last stay there was for Homecoming in 2004.
Rush Lake used to be one of the more popular hotels in Gainesville before Cabot Lodge and then the Hilton and all the newer hotels opened. It is pretty great rate and the hotel is close to campus and a short cab ride to downtown. Plus, Steak and Shake is right across the street for the late night after bar food.
It is not the most modern but we've always liked staying here.
