Sals restaurant is now called Main Street Cafe as of February or March of 2011. The food is very good, especially the hamburgers. All new waitresses except for one who used to work at Sals. The rest are young newbies. Slowly turning into a sports bar, but the food is still good. Just don't eat dinner there. Fixtures are getting a little worn and need replacing, but I'm sure time will take care of that. I recommend their lunch special for $7.95 which includes a drink.

The owner pours liquor in her water bottle throughout the day and by the afternoon going on evening is trashed, rambling on very loudly and being rude. Ther server's drink on the job and smoke weed in the walk in and snort pills (roxie's are their favorite!!!!) in the bathrooms. The cooks come in stoned and bring their own case of beer with them to drink on the line though out the day. Forget going out for a smoke, they have ashtrays on the line, when they remember to ash. This place is absolutely fu*&%^& disgusting! Why would anyone poison their bodies with food prepared by dirty, filthy people in a dirty, filthy establishment is beyond me!!!!!

The Pistone family use to own this restraunt. Do they still own it? If not does anyone know Sal? (The son) I went to school with him and would love to make contact with him. Thanks! Oh and while I am here, my family use to eat at Sal's when I was growing up and they loved it!

This restaurant used to be very good. We really enjoyed going there and did so once a week. One of the owners left and the restaurant has really gone down hill over the years. Prices are high and they do not care about the customers. If you voice a problem with anything they just say so what.

I worked here as a busser and quit after 2 days.

The place is disgusting!

People smoke in the kitchen and spit on the floors storage bins are used for transporting ice and yes, the salads are old.

Visiting the area, went there last Saturday. They place is spacious and wasn't crowded. Seated ourselves. They listed non-alcoholic Coors on the menu, which I prefer to O'Douls, but when I ordered one the waitress said she'd never heard of it. When I pointed to it on the menu, she shrugged and said she didn't think there was such a thing. (I settled for O'Douls). When we ordered our entree, she made the point that as every dish is 'freshly made by hand' there would be a wait. When the salads arrived, they looked like that had been waiting around since breakfast time - limp and unappetising. Our bread basket had one roll and someone else's half-used butter pat in it. But the worst thing was was the old plastic beer mugs and salad plates which were horrible and the china where the pattern was almost worn away. I would have thrown it away years ago. The food itself was tasty but I think they were expensive considering the service and the surroundings. The pizzas looked good and would probably have been a better value choice.

If you are looking for a decent Italian rest. then I would say go to Sal's. They have some great food and excellent specials. Regular prices I feel are alittle on the high side. I do have to say that the turn over rate for employees is very high. The people that bus the tables seem to care a little more about the customers then the waiters or waitresses. I used to go there every week with my family, then the owners changed I go about once a month now if that. The food is good though.

PROS: Good Food
CONS: Not the best service unless you get a busser and pricing a little high

Sal's restaurant is a pretty good place to eat. It is an Italian restaurant. The food is usually good, we mostly enjoy the pizza and calzones (they are the best). The restaurant itself is always clean and attractively decorated. We've had a few parties/get-togethers there in the past and everything went fine. The waitress' could be a little more attentive to the customers needs, however. Over all, it's a good place to get a decent meal at a reasonable price.
